Pedestrian Ran In Front Of Semi Truck

Recently a pedestrian was killed when he ran out in front of a semi truck. A truck driver heading south bound on highway 19, in Florida, had a pedestrian run in front of him. No one knows if the person was trying to beat the truck or if he was attempting suicide by semi truck.

Many people every day take chances around these big rigs. They cut truckers off and break check them, they sneak up on their sides trying to beat them to red lights or they just pull out in front of a tractor-trailer thinking the big rig has 18 brakes and can stop on a dime. In fact it's just the opposite. It takes two football fields to stop at 70mph. These big boys gross weight is 80,000 pounds, that 4o tons of inertia.

When someone is hurt or killed by a tractor trailer, the trucker has to live the rest of his life with this memory. Truckers are human too. This incident that happened on highway 19, was tragic. Not only for the victim and his family but also for the trucker. He did not ask for this to happen and from the reports, it looks like the truck driver did nothing wrong. So please be careful around these large cars called big rigs, the life you save may be your own.
