True Blood Authority

This week we review the series finale episode 710 of HBO’s True Blood entitled, “Thank You”.  It was perhaps the worst finale of television I have ever seen.  If you care to listen to 50+ minutes of several True Blood fans venting their spleens about it, feel free to do so.  Otherwise, enjoy the GIF of Eric bopping down the road, and remember better times.

This week A.Ron and Cecily break down the mostly terrible but oddly endearing and rewarding episode of HBO’s True Blood, episode 709, “Love Is to Die”. Topics discussed include Pam’s love of being silvered, Ginger’s wish fulfillment, the pulping of Sookie, the general terribleness of all things Jessica/Jason/Hoyt, and we cling to the Evil Bill theory to the bitter end. Cecily and A.Ron are really bummed out about how they’re choosing to close an otherwise promising True Blood season.  Tara dies to make way for a Lettie Mae redemption arc? Jessica hitches her wagon to the big dumb Hoyt horse, or maybe she doesn’t.  Bill mumbles a mess about how his memories of love are only darkness.  On the plus side, Eric is feeling better and we get treated to the sight of Violet preparing to use boob gougers and white hot phallus torture implements, so, you know, there’s that.  All this, plus a bit of mostly outraged feedback.  Next week we’ll all try to do better, okay Alan?

Cecily and A.Ron once again discuss HBO’s True Blood, this time for episode 707, “May Be the Last Time”, which is unfortunately kind of forgettable.  Andy cries, Violet shows off her antique sex toy collection, a vampire gets staked, and Bill and Sookie have some retro-relations, but still… yawn?  Let’s hope they pick up the pace for their final sprint to the finish, or else we might just have to keep dwelling on bloody vampire sex and potato-based sex ed.  Nobody wants that.
