When Katie Palmer is on a walk with her husband on the morning of April 21st 2020, she is struck by a truck and tragically killed. Her family is left in shambles. Katie was a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a teacher, and a role model to many in the tight knit community of Dennison, Texas. In this episode, John Palmer joins me to help tell his wife's story. John was also hit by the truck that morning and has a first hand account of what happened to his wife. This case goes deep into injustice and how personal connections mixed with ego's often get in the way of good police work. Body cams reveal an officer's true colors here... and what if it was your loved one? On July 4th 2022, 7 victims lost their lives during a shooting at the parade that morning. This violent act left more than a few dozen wounded as well and hundreds traumatized for life. During the Kaysville, Utah July 4th parade, an 8 year old girl named Macie Hill was struck by a vehicle and died at the hospital the same day. In 1988, 16 year old Junko Furuta was kidnapped and forced to endure a torment that we can't even begin to wrap our minds around.
