True Crime Island

It’s always a stressful time for families when those convicted of horrific acts against their loved ones eventually complete their sentences and walk free. Tonight, I will go over two cases where killers and rapists are now free to roam the streets.

It’s June 2010, a surgeon is convicted of three counts of manslaughter and one case of grievous bodily harm, then sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. In August 2012, all convictions were quashed. A retrial on one count of manslaughter results in his acquittal and all charges other than a fraud charge is dropped.

It’s lunchtime of the 13th of August 2018. Nickole Utoft Atkinson contacts police when her friend Shanann Watts missed appointments that morning and can’t be found.

Chris Watts, Shannan’s husband arrives at the home to meet police.

No one will believe what unfolds from here.

This is the Watt’s family murder case.

It’s Wednesday, October 10, 2012. The children of millionaire couple Peter and Q.C Chadwick wait to be picked up at a bus stop after school. When neither of their parents arrive and they don’t answer any calls an alarm is raised. Peter and Q.C. are missing. But this won’t be any normal missing persons case, this is bizarre. Let’s find Peter Chadwick.

Scammers are all over the internet costing billions of dollars each year, tonight I go over some typical scams to watch out for and go into one case of a victim that lost everything.

It’s April 22nd 1999. 9-year-old Keyra Steinhardt goes missing on her way home from school. The next day the perp is tracked down and would be charged with her abduction. Soon he would be not only charged with her murder but several others.

This is the case of Leonard John Fraser.

It’s the 9PM 5th of October 1997. Two teenage friends, Lauren Barry and Nichole Collins, leave their friends and campsite to attend a party about an hour’s walk away.

They didn’t make it.
