This podcast contains graphic details of an interview with a convicted pedophile that I once worked with. He agreed to share the details of his sex crime against his two minor granddaughters. FROM HIS PERSPECTIVE. He describes his background prior to the abuse and how the sexual abuse developed, and the ways he molested them. The offender talks about how there were times when various family members were in the same room or house while he was molesting the children. He also disclosed that at one point, one of the victims did tell her parents and how was able to get around it by spinning the situation to the point that the child was again allowed to be around him and he was able to continue sexually abusing her. Additionally, his wife at the time had some level of knowledge and did nothing to protect these children. He discusses how he eventually got caught and the consequences that he faced. This was one my first encounters working with a sex offender on parole and his brutal sex crime that rattled my core. It includes minor details of my first job as as a "Sex Offender Therapist" working with offenders on parole who were court mandated to "Sex Offender Counseling". I share one of the most disturbing sex crimes that I have heard throughout my career. This crime demonstrates the impulsivity and opportunistic ways that some sex offenders operate under. The story ends with a take away of how to protect yourself.
