On Christmas Eve 2014, around 10 p.m., 35-year-old Dustin Lee Klopp and his wife, 34-year-old Stephanie Kilhefner, became involved in an argument at their Paradise Township home in Pennsylvania.
Although the exact cause of the argument remained unknown, it escalated into a horrific act of violence.
During the altercation, Dustin punched Stephanie in the face, causing her to fall to the floor. He then used a knife to slash her throat and struck her head multiple times with an axe.
After killing Stephanie, Dustin hid her body in a car-carrier bag and put it in a shed on their property. In an attempt to cover up the crime, he tried to clean up the blood and erase any evidence of his actions.
The following day, Christmas Day, Dustin faced the grim task of hiding the truth from their children.

On the 25th of December 2013, 37-year-old Melissa Young made a 999 call, reporting that her neighbour, Alan Williamson, refused to leave her flat.
Later that evening, she made a second call to 999, this time admitting she had stabbed Alan Williamson at her flat on Glenure Loan in Corstorphine, Edinburgh.
When police arrived at Melissa's flat, they found her hands covered in blood and 47-year-old Alan Williamson lying dead behind the front door.
Melissa confessed to the officers, saying:
"The power it gave me was amazing. I have severe mental health issues. I need to go to Carstairs (psychiatric hospital). We've been friends for ages, but this has been coming for ages."
In the kitchen, police discovered a six-inch knife, the weapon used in the attack.
Alan Williamson had suffered 29 injuries, including 12 stab wounds to the left side of his chest, 12 to his left upper limb, and five to his left lower limb.

On the 6th of June, 2023, security footage captured 31-year-old Kristel Candelario as she left her home on Lorain Avenue near West 97th Street in Cleveland. She loaded a suitcase into her car and then drove off.
Kristel was headed off on a 10-day summer vacation, leaving her 16-month-old daughter, Jailyn, alone in their home.
The little girl was left confined to a playpen, with only a few bottles of milk to sustain her. Kristel, meanwhile, was bound for the beaches of Puerto Rico, travelling with a male friend.
A few days later, at around 1 am on the 9th of June 2023, a neighbour's doorbell camera later captured Jailyn's cries echoing through the quiet neighbourhood.
After days spent in the sun and sand, with a final stop in Detroit, Kristel returned on the 16th of June, 2023, arriving home at exactly 7:36 a.m.
Only eleven minutes after stepping inside, she dialled 911, hysterically shouting:
"Please I need help. Please, please, help me. My daughter is dying."

October 30, 2024 Real-Life Ghostface: The "Scream" Murder On Carbon Street
On March 25, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a call was received reporting an active assault in the 200 block of Carbon Street in Lehighton Borough, roughly 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found 59-year-old Edward Whitehead suffering from a severe puncture wound on the side of his head, along with cuts to his head and arms, and defensive injuries to his hands.
Edward Whitehead was promptly transported to St. Luke's Hospital - Carbon Campus; however, he tragically succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Upon reviewing surveillance footage from the area around the property, police observed an individual, dressed entirely in black and wearing a "Scream" mask, leaving through the back door of Edward's residence.
