  • Ep42: 4 Things To Share With Clients That Instantly Increases Enrollments

How are you doing with your enrollment rate? Are you busy going “forest, forest, forest!” and not really seeing the trees? How do you truly move the needle up in your enrollments?

In this episode, Heather gives out easy but effective steps in getting more enrollments for your programs. These are not sales strategies but steps that will help you create relationships with your potential clients or employees. These tips will also sound like common sense - however, most, if not all, new coaches do not effectively communicate with their clients. Be ready to take some notes for Heather’s quick tips at the end of the podcast, too.

Are you ready to move that enrollment needle up, up, up? Then listen to this podcast and start hitting your enrollment goals with ease!

4 Things To Share With Clients That Instantly Increases Enrollments Before you get off the call with every client that is a good fit for you, make sure your client clearly understands the four following things:

    1. Who you are and what you do. Be clear on your prospective client about what your business is, how you do it, who you do it for, and why you do it. Don’t assume that your potential client knows who you are.
    2. They need to know that you understand their problem and have a solution that just tells them to the Finish Line faster and easier than they can do on their own.  A general answer as to what/why they are stuck with their problem, and how you would help them solve (introducing your coaching offers here) it if they enroll with you
    3. What will happen to them if they choose not to solve this problem (Paint the picture of how their pain and their life will stay the same or just get worse if they do nothing to fix it).
    1. The ‘what happens next’ if they choose to work with you. How “working with you works” and what your clients should expect after your clarity call.

    Quick Tips

    • Typical length for an Introductory call is 30 minutes, although if the person is a good fit, it will more than likely last about 1 hour.
    • The typical number of clarity calls to enroll your average client is two for high end programs
    • When just starting out, it is rare that a person will commit to enrollment on their first clarity call. It is perfectly normal for you to need to schedule another Clarity call within a two to three-day time frame to finalize enrollment.

    Show Notes

    • 0:28 Heather shares her thoughts on why she is sharing this episode and what this episode is all about.
    • 3:45 Heather’s invitation for you to know where you are at to assess your enrollment rate.
    • 5:08 What is a clarity or sales call?
    • 6:49 Step 1: Communicate clearly on who you are and what you do.
    • 8:17 Step 2: You need to understand their problems or challenges.
    • 11:00 Step 3: What will happen if they don’t choose to solve their problem with you?
    • 13:57 Step 4: Let your clients know what happens next.
    • 15:57 Heather’s quick tips in doing enrollment calls.

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

“We’re really busy going ‘forest, forest, forest’, and we’re not really seeing the trees.”

“Clarity call is building a relationship with people.”

“Don’t assume your client knows who you are. Introduce yourself and give a clear introduction of what your business is, how you do it, who you do it for, and why you do it.”

“Your clients need to understand that you understand fundamentally what their problem is and that you can provide solutions that take them to the finish line faster and easier.”

“Your clients need to understand the reality of staying in the same place not taking decisive actions.”

“Know that it’s normal to give people space and time to make the decision.”

    • 11:47 #3 Fall in love with selling.
    • 14:12 #4 Hire an assistant now.
    • 15:10 #5 Decide what type of business you want to run.
    • 16:40 #6 Low-end offers do not create wealth.
    • 17:40 Heather gives a real-life example of why going high ticket is the way.
    • 21:30 #7 You only need ONE offer.
    • 24:15 #8 There is no such thing as passive income.
    • 28:00 #9 Work your business EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Heather’s Nine Points on What’s Required in Building Your Business

    1. Funnels and fancy marketing tactics aren’t going to do the enrollment for you. Human interaction is still necessary for higher ticket offers.
    2. You will have to create your own systems within your business that reflect the way you like to work. Someone else’s strategies aren’t going to hit the mark entirely for you. Therefore Document everything.
    3. Sales and marketing are paramount after you create an effective offer. Learn to freaking love sales.
    4. Hire an assistant now. You will need help almost immediately.
    5. Decide what type of business you want to run. Do this by asking yourself, “Do I want to have high 5 figure launches or high 5 figure months? Depending on your answer, you will need to set up your business in different ways. Neither is wrong, it’s just a decision you need to make to be aware of how you get there.
    6. Low-end offers don’t create wealth  Or consistent income.   High ticket is the way to go if you want to make real money. - Here's why.it takes as much energy to launch and enroll clients into a $500 offer as it does a $5,000 offer. Here’s an example. What say you have a goal of making $20,000 on your next program offer. If you have a $500 product you are going to need to enroll 40 people, To hit that number, which means that you will need to have a minimum of two thousand people registered for your event! That is a ton of people!  Conversely, let's say you have a $5,000 product and want to hit the same number and revenue, $20,000. You would need to convert 4 people which means you would need 200 people registered. 2000 or 200?  Which do you think you can pull off easier. The answer is clear. By having a low-end offer, you have 10X the number of people that you're going to have to enroll in order to meet the same goal.   Launching is launching, you're much better off focusing on creating a true body of work that you're excited to sell for a higher premium ticket then you are offering a ton of smaller courses.
    7. You only need one offer!!! A common mistake Coaches make is they have too many offers because they think that’s what they need to make money.  don’t understand how to Focus completely on and scale their core offer.
    8. There’s no such thing as passive income.  There are two types of Investments that truly create passive income. The first is the stock market in the second is real estate. You sit on your ass and while you sleep hopefully you make money. But in the online world that is simply not the case. Even if you have the most dialed-in funnel in the world, at some point in time it's going to break, it's going to stop converting and you're going to have to work on it. And this happens incredibly frequently. In other words, there are no prepay days. You're going to have to work for it.
    9. You will have to work your business every single day.   Consistency is King. Content is Queen. This is not a golden ticket to financial freedom.  within Atmana we have a saying, “I scrub the toilets around here.” Get over the idea. It's glamorous or fun to be the head woman in charge. As a business owner, you are going to have to be willing to do the hard and dirty work that nobody else wants to do or is willing to do in order to see your company thrive.

    Soul Stirring Quotes

“Fancy funnels and marketing tactics will not do the work and the enrollment for you.”

“We want human interaction, we want our clients to know us and us to know them.”

“No one person’s system is going to work for you. You are going to work it out, take it, and make it your own.”

“The systems and the strategies that are going to help catapult your business are the ones you make yourself.”

“It is honorable to offer people your work, to market authenticity and integrity. It is a service for you to step up and sell.”

“High ticket is the way to go.”

“Focus on creating a true transformational body of work, creating a real framework around the ideas, concept, and things that will really affect change in a person’s life.”

    • 27:12 Heather's invitation for you to think which of the steps you are doing in your business now.
    • 28:45 Heather shares her story on what she did on her first product launch.

    1. Eat the elephant one bite at a time - In other words, make attainable but ambitious goals.
      1. This means allowing yourself to learn and grow into what you don't know, while still shooting for your highest vision of what you would like to create in your practice. Doing this helps you in two ways. First, it helps you relax and give yourself permission to experiment and try new things, quality of every successful person and business, and 2nd, it helps you enjoy the process of growing. Doing this sets you up for success because not only will you be more likely to hit your goal, you'll have fun along the way which will keep you in the game longer and the long game is where you make the most soul-inspired impact and meaningful money.
        1. Example: We only spend about 1000 on ads for our launch, why? Because I know that ramping up and dialing in ads is a massive undertaking

    1. Quantify Qualify Quantify your A and Z: What do I mean by that? Have a clear idea of what your desired end result looks like and WHY you want it. What is it about this goal that makes you want it? What will this goal do for you? This also means that you have to have a clear idea of where you are in relation to what you're trying to accomplish. A great example of this is going on a road trip. Let's say you want your destination to be San Diego. In order to map your journey there, you need to what city you're in right now. You have to know where your beginning in order to know the exact Rhodes you need to take to make it to San Diego. I know this sounds like common sense but you would be shocked at how many people fail to accomplish their goals not because they aren't capable of achieving them, or didn't have the appropriate resources or knowledge on how to get there, but because they didn't have a clear idea of exactly where they're starting out from so that they could create a viable and cohesive plan.

    1. Fill in B-Y. Now that you know where you're starting from and where you're ending, you need to fill in to be through why. What do I mean by this? Well, you need to have a step-by-step idea of how you are going to bring your offer to the market. There are literally thousands of ways to do this, but I'm going to give you the basics of it right here just so that you can check a few boxes in terms of getting the corn nuts and bolts down. in order to launch almost any new offer, you will need the following.
      1. An opt-in page that outlines your free event. You will use this free event to Invite people to your offer.
        1. a thank you page that your future client land on after they opted in letting them know that they are registered.
          1. You will need to send them an email with participant information.
      2. A sales page for your offer. The sales page will need to list your clients' main problems as well as their hopes, and then detail exactly what your program components are with a compelling call to action throughout the page urging them to take the leap and enroll.
      3. Enrollment Page: This is basically your order form on how clients and roll with you.
      4. Emails emails emails. There are three basic types of emails you will need to send. Invitation emails, promo emails, and offer emails. The invitation emails encourage your client to register for the workshop, the promo emails are the nurture emails that you send to the people who are on your Workshop list that are encouraging them to and roll, and then your offer emails are a straight call to actions letting your clients know the details of your program and the close date.
      5. Other marketing collateral. He will need graphics for all your events, and I strongly recommend creating a workbook that outlines the Salient points of your Workshop so that your participants can see in real-time how powerful it would be to work with you. And the results that they would be able to get when they do so.

    1. Know Your Numbers: Here are some numbers to know in your launch. The average conversion rate for anyone given an offer made is between 2%-3%. I like to be super conservative and factor in a conversion rate of 2%. In my last launch I had a conversion rate of 2.34%. So you can start with a 2% conversion rate and then work your way backward. But how do you know what numbers to track to make sure that you can get that 2%. Here is a basic outline of what you need to be keeping your eyes on during your launch.
      1. the number of people you have registered for your free training or event from which you will "make the pitch."
      2. The number of people who attend live or on replay: How many show up? And who shows up? Be sure to track this. For those who do not show up live, encourage them to watch on replay. And yes, you need to offer a replay. Remember to email all attendees of the replay and encourage people who did not attend live to watch the replay. Another tip to increase attendance is to let your participants know that the replay will be taken down at a certain date. Meaning, make access to your event time-sensitive.
      3. the number of people who stay on until the end. Remember, your clients can't enroll with you if they don't listen long enough to hear your offer. if you want to get really specific, at the 10-minute Mark at the beginning of your event, make note of how many participants you have. And then compare that with how many you have at the end. This will give you a data-driven idea of how engaging the content you are presenting is to your clients. if you noticed that a lot of people show up, but not a lot stay on to the end, you might need to tweak your presentation.

    • Enrollment number. 2%

The beauty of knowing these numbers is that it makes setting goals much easier. Do you want 10 people in your program? You need 500 registrants. Want 20 people in your program? You need 1000 registrants. Now, I don't want to sound callous. I do not believe that selling is a numbers game only. But if you don't wrap your head around some type of data-driven goal, you are not going to be able to understand what you need to be doing in terms of execution to hit the enrollment numbers you want so that you can serve the soldier here to serve.

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

"Your soul demands that you not only reach your goal, and the process you use is in alignment with your mission and your work."

"It is the fundamentals that we focus on that make us successful."

    "Make attainable and ambitious goals."

"Allow yourself to learn and grow into what you don't know while still shooting for your highest vision of what you like to create."

"There's nothing wrong with recognizing where you are at now in your business."

"You need to have a step by step idea of how you're going to bring your offer to the market."

"I believe that if we are serving in our purpose, your client enrolling with you just feels like a natural and logical step."

"Go for that launch, 90% done."

  • Ep39: Becoming Trauma Informed & Aware

Trauma is an overused word that we hear a lot of from coaches or mentors these days, but what does it really look like and how can we truly help our clients go through their trauma? What is our responsibility as healers when it comes to helping our people deal with trauma?

In this podcast episode, we talk all about trauma with Andy DeLucia, a mother of 4, a wife, entrepreneur, and trauma-informed mentor. Andy is passionate about helping women heal lineage cycles of pain and trauma and come home to wholeness. Being a complex trauma survivor herself, she shares how, as coaches, mentors, and healers, we can help clients go through trauma by regulating emotions and becoming more aware of their mind, body, and soul. She also shares why it is important to also recognize when to reach out to trauma-informed specialists for clients who need their specific needs.

If you want an episode that does not hold back on trauma and what it really takes to help others heal from their trauma, then this episode is for you!

    In The Episode:

    • 0:40 Heather introduces Andy DeLucia, how she found her, and why she chose to have her in the show.

    • 25:10 Why coaches and mentors have an upper hand in helping clients deal with trauma in Andy’s opinion.
    • 28:30 What should we look for a trauma-informed coach?
    • 33:50 Why should you learn to hold space for your clients and do it simultaneously when you aspire to be a coach or a mentor?
    • 35:10 What does healing really look like?
    • 35:40 Andy shares about her work, her books, and how to connect with her.

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

“It’s really important that we know how to decipher between healing trauma and helping someone move through trauma.”

“Trauma isn’t what the experience is - it’s how our body internalizes it.”

“We don’t need to go back to the event of the trauma. We need to bring them to a place where they are right now.”

“It doesn’t matter what happened in the past. We can never change it, so why do we have to relive it?”

“We cannot bypass trauma. We need to do the intake and find out where we are now.”

“The message for us mentors and coaches should be healing is not a privilege. We don’t need to earn healing.”

“Trauma disconnects us to our body. As a coach and as a healer, we want to reconnect the soul and the body.”

“In order for any other thing to work for you, you have to feel safe inside.”

“Coaches and mentors have relatability, we’re in it, and we know what that safety looks like. It feels more organic.”

“Check yourself, look in the mirror and ask yourself, ‘Am I doing the healing work? Am I going to project to my clients?’”

“Understand that there’s responsibility in our work. Stay in your lane, acquire tools that will help you, and work with a trauma-informed coach.”

“Healing is back and forth - it’s not linear.”

  • Ep. 35 How to Help Others While You're Working On Yourself

There's a uniting "common denominator" within the human experience that binds us all…even in 2020.

This shared experience is so universal that literally every human on the planet can relate to it….

    The junk drawer.

We've all got a junk drawer in our house and it's always a freaking mess.

You know that I'm talking about… That hidden catch-all space that has your candles, car keys, sewing needles, and your cat's flea treatment medicine all shoved in.

Now, it's not like the rest of your house is that trash...

You've got your stuff together. But this one drawer? Well, it's your one place of special messy that you just wouldn't be human if you didn't have.

And as coaches, we are the same way.

We've all got a "junk drawer" inside us that we will always be working on, always organizing, and figuring out.

Many emerging coaches feel this somehow disqualifies or discredits their ability to help other people transforming lives.

To which I squeal, "Sir/Sister, Please!" 😒 Nobody does this work from a place of perfection.

You just have to learn how to not let our junk drawer spillover and mess up the rest of your coaching practice.

So to answer the question, "How do I help others while I'm still working on healing myself?"

I went LIVE in our free group yesterday with a hot A to this Q, and I wanted to share it with you too in case you missed it!

The bottom line take-away from this Live is this: Every coach is in the process of healing, it's how you are holding space for yourself and your own process that determines if you're able to be an effective coach or a particular topic or not.

No matter where you fall on this spectrum of allowing the "junk drawer" of your personal experiences, here are some do's and don't that will help you navigate this important issue.

    Listen to the episode now!

    • 0:30 Heather shares what the podcast episode is all about and why she loves this topic.
    • 1:28 Where this question came from- Heather gives you an exclusive invitation to the Atmana Coach Collective Facebook Group so if you are not yet in the group, it's time to join and get in an amazing, empowering, and fun group!
    • 3:20 The common denominators that bind and bring us all together.
    • 4:16 The concept of the "Junk Drawer", and how professional helpers, healers, and coaches can relate to this.
    • 7:23 Tip #1 - Go easy on YOURSELF!
    • 8:28 What the real issue is in the process of healing and growing, and how you hold the space in the work you need to do.
    • 9:20 DON'T try to coach people through issues that you yourself are still feeling raw, ungrounded, and extremely uneasy.
    • 11:04 DON'T "I use to…., Now I'm ……" your clients or audience.
    • 13:15 DON'T process your stuff out loud and all over social media.
    • 15:11 DON'T rush your own healing process.
    • 16:29 DO learn how to bracket. What is bracketing and how it works?
    • 18:20 DO understand your soft spots.
    • 18:44 DO share your experiences and struggles honestly.
    • 19:13 DO take care of your own junk drawer.
    • 19:37 DO take the pressure off yourself.
    • 21:38 Heather sums up and invites you to ask yourself if you experience the Do's and Don'ts in the podcast.

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

"Every human being on Earth who has ever come before you and aspired to do what you are doing has had issues, too, and yet they persevere with the work."

"Go easy on yourself and realize that you will always be a work in progress - it is not a disqualifier."

"We have to figure out how we hold space to ourselves, give ourselves compassion, allow ourselves our own humanness, and do it in a professional way that is reflective of our heart's intention."

"Every coach is in the process of healing and growing."

"Give yourself your own space to process what you need to."

"Confide in people you trust, distill your problem down, and do your inner work towards the victory that you are after."

"It's okay to not have every single aspect of your life figured out. Give yourself permission to be human."

"As a healer, you are a mirror. You will call to yourself clients that trigger you."

"Your clients want to know that you are a human."

"You are not responsible for fixing your client's entire life. You need to operate within your zone of genius and that is what your clients are going to be coming to you for."

"Take the pressure off and just know that you are helping your clients achieve their goals."

  • Ep. 34 Cognitive Bypassing with Dr. Russell Kennedy

How do you truly heal from your anxiety? How does cognitive bypassing help you overcome your fear and anxiety?

Do you agree with these two statements: "You can't think your way out of a feeling problem." and "You've got to feel it to heal it." I believe both these statements are 100% correct. We live in a hyper intellectualized world where we try to solve every problem in the known universe with our intellect. Dr. Russell Kennedy, a fan favorite, coined this bad habit, "cognitive bypassing". In today's episode, we discuss What cognitive bypassing is, and how to avoid doing it. He also introduces his book, where he shares how you can discover your alarm (his word for Anxiety), the importance of silence, and his ABC method. Look out for the different, and fun, analogies about facing our fear and anxiety and overcoming each one through silence, awareness, and compassion. We also get to hear an excerpt from Dr. Russell's recent viral article on cognitive bypassing, a sample of how amazing, unconventional and eye-opening his work is!

Are you ready for another awesome episode? Then listen in and get blown away by all the great takeaways from this episode.

    In This Episode:

    • 0:30 Heather introduces Dr.Russell Kennedy and his book.

    • 20:48 Dr. Russell shares his thoughts for coaches or doctors who insist on the cognitive-behavioral mind model.
    • 24:00 The importance of waiting, the difference between fear and anxiety, and not taking the mind's first offer.
    • 30:00 Dr.Russell shares how he keeps his clients at the moment, how to be okay with their emotions, and their silence.
    • 37:20 Dr. Russell's analogy in riding a bike and working as coaches, counselors, and intuitives.
    • 38:48 Anxiety Rx, Dr. Russell's new book - what is it about and why he wrote it.
    • 40:15 How mental anguish is reflected in the body, how to deal with it, and heal it.
    • 47:47 Dr. Russell's advice about our thoughts and watching ourselves think, and his own experience.
    • 52:40 Dr. Russell shares his ABC process - Awareness, Be (body and breath), Compassion (to yourself).

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

"Cognitive bypassing is really about how you intellectuallize the abuse that happened to you, the story you tell yourself around it to make you feel better. It is an unconscious implicit memory."

"There's nothing wrong with using cognitive strategies as a part of your emotional well being. However, compulsively adding cognition to emotion ensures your traumas can never fully heal."

"Don't take your mind's first offer."

"The real gold is sitting there in silence, uncomfortable. As intuitives, silence is our gold."

"Where do you feel your alarm? Put your hand on that spot and connect with that."

"That alarm is your inner child and that's the part you need to connect to."

"When people are in their old trauma, they are not in their cognitive rational brain."

"The feeling is not so bad, when we start adding thoughts to it that's when it cycles out of control."

"The alarm in your system is the cause of your anxiety."

"The mental anguish comes as a reflection of what's going on in the trapped energy of the body."

"Anxiety itself is just thoughts of the mind, it is not painful."

"Just watch your mind and get into sensation."

  • Ep. 33 How to Stop Caring About What Other People Think of You

Do you care too much about what people think of you? Are you scared to death when someone feels hate all over you and your work as an intuitive coach?

The honest answer is probably yes... and that might just be a good thing! It is completely normal to care about what other people think of you. In fact, it's important that you care what people think of you. It creates social bonds and helps us grow collectively as a species. But when and how do you draw the line? When does caring about their opinion become toxic? How do you know when you are selling yourself out for the approval of others? That's what today's podcast is all about!

In the podcast, Heather goes over three rules that help you find the balance between you caring about what people think but not letting disapproval from others debilitate you. You'll get to listen to Heather's three rules and how to use each one when other people are giving their opinions or advice on what you do. Heather also shares a beautiful and inspiring quote from Theodore Roosevelt, her awesome analogies, and a mantra that can help you overcome what people are thinking about you.

If you are someone who wants to live your soul purpose without the fear of being judged or to finally not care about what other people think, then this podcast is perfect for you!

    In This Episode:

    • 0:40 Heather shares her thoughts about how to stop caring about what other people think - lookout for Heather's "itchy" analogy!
    • 3:53 Three important questions you need to be asking yourself.
    • 6:00 Where do we draw the line in caring about what other people say? Heather shares her rules in filtering feedback and advice from other people.
    • 7:50 First Rule - Do not take advice from people not doing better in life than you are.
    • 9:48 Second Rule - Do not take advice or feedback from people who don't love you or genuinely want the best for you.
    • 13:11 Third Rule - Is that person in the arena and are they succeeding themselves in their own life?
    • 16:15 The armchair quarterback analogy.
    • 17:50 It is okay to make people care and not be concerned about it.
    • 19:50 Heather's mantra about caring about what others think about yourself.

    Soul Stirring Quotes:

"There are only two people in the world who genuinely don't think what other people think- children under the age of three and psychopaths."

"It's not actually bad to care, but where do we draw the line?"

"Listen to people who are in a better position and really out there moving the needle at the game they are playing."

"A person who is sincerely committed to your growth and evolution as a human will be able to check their own uncomfortability when they see you shining."

"Hang out with people in the arena who are slinging it out there, because those people are going to understand you in a very deep way."

"If you are going to dare greatly, you have to develop a thick skin. No matter what you do, people are going to judge you."

"To admit that we want to be liked is the most honest and vulnerable thing in the world. It is what makes us human."

"Give yourself permission to care but not the permission to be concerned."
