Ronn Sutton is an illustrator and comic book artist, based on Ottawa, who has drawn several hundred comic books over the past four decades. This includes a nine year stint illustrating nearly 50 issues of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark for Claypool Comics from 1998 to 2006. Among his many accolades, Ronn has been honoured with the Aurora Award Nominations for Best Artist and Joe Shuster Award Nomination for Best Webcomic/Digital Comic. In 2022, Ronn was inducted into the Joe Shuster Awards Hall of Fame. Ronn’s recent work includes the Frankenstein Visions art book, regular “Comic Book Creator” magazine portraits and more. Ronn is currently drawing the webcomic adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough’s Carson of Venus and celebrating his 200th episode.

Carson of Venus is the story of “Carson Napier, adventurer on Earth’s neighbour world, discovers that he has been tricked into delivering his own death sentence. Now he is trapped, by the machinations of a cruel enemy and by his own honour.”

Originally from Canada but currently residing in New York City, Anthony Del Col is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer/producer of podcasts and comics. His stories include Kill Shakespeare, Assassin’s Creed, the controversial graphic novel The Death of Nancy Drew, and the award-winning Insider comic I Escaped A Chinese Internment Camp, a first-person exploration of one Muslim Uyghur woman’s imprisonment by the Chinese government (2022 Pulitzer Award for Illustrated Reporting and Commentary). His 2020 audio drama ASSASSIN’S CREED: GOLD, starring Oscar-nominee Riz Ahmed, was Audible’s top-rated release of the year. His first project with Audible, the found-footage thriller UNHEARD: THE STORY OF ANNA WINSLOW, hit #1 on Audible and broke download records. Other projects include the Ringo Awards-nominated graphic novel Son of Hitler (“few war stories are this much fun” – NPR); LUKE CAGE: EVERYMAN (Marvel), three seasons of Wondery’s hit podcast AGAINST THE ODDS, over 50 episodes of the Army Matters podcast and a series of acclaimed and award-winning comics for Insider that explore subjects such as anti-Muslim policies in India, filtration camps in Ukraine and migrant workers in Qatar. His new work, available this month is Romeo vs. Juliet: A Kill Shakespeare Adventure.

Stefan Tosheff is an illustrator and comic artist from Vancouver, British Columbia. He loves guitar riffs, play fighting, singing peoples names to them, and hates being late for anything. Stefan has a Diploma in Commercial Animation and an enhanced diploma in illustration and design application (IDEA) both from Capilano University.  He has worked with Boom! Comics, Titmouse, Chapterhouse comics,Lev Gleason Comichouse, Skybound Studios, Super! publishing, Dossier Creative INC, Wasserman Media Group, DDB Canada, Cossiette, Exit 22 Productions, Titmouse animation studio, Dreamworks and has won 2 awards for Illustration from Applied Arts. Stefan is the illustrator for Romeo vs. Juliet: A Kill Shakespeare Adventure.

The story of Romeo vs Juliet: A Kill Shakespeare Adventure goes like this: “In this Shakespearean Western, warrior-for-hire (and pregnant) Juliet Capulet is hired to protect a border town nunnery from the evil forces led by her ex Romeo. As they prepare, she reluctantly reunites with her old allies, including Hamlet, Othello, Puck (a “Magnificent Shakespeare Seven”) but they soon discover something rotten in the state of the nunnery and a magical force that dreams are made on… all while Juliet must determine if the father of her child is Hamlet… or the man she must kill, Romeo.”

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in addition to being an avid comic book collector, Ron Doucet is a director for animated series and currently works at Cartoon Conrad. He occasionally performs production supervision and creative consulting roles, teaches classes in animation, storyboards and character design, and enjoys being a keynote speaker in conferences and seminars, along with demonstrating industry-related workshops at colleges and festivals. He’s been working in the animation industry for over 25 years, having directed the animation for over 900 episodes of television – including shows for Cartoon Network, Nicktoons, Warner Brothers, BBC, Universal, Teletoon, and YTV. Over his career, Ron has hired and supervised over 500 animation artists. In 2001, Ron helped produce one of the very first fully-animated Flash series for television. He’s also had the privilege of working on his first feature film Teen Titans Go To The Movies! One of Ron’s recent projects hitting airwaves shortly is ‘Super Team Canada‘.

Starting in May, the animated comedy ‘Super Team Canada’ focuses on the exploits of six, little-known Canadian superheroes trying to save the world from evil giant robots, an unemployed octopus, and needy hardware store clerks. The stakes are high for these stereotypically underdog Canadian super-unknowns, who are called in as Earth’s last resort when all the other superheroes have been destroyed.

Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Claudio Ghirardo is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, contemporary figurative painter and illustrator. He’s a a graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art and has been a freelance illustrator and gallery artist for many years. Claudio uses traditional art forms, such as painting and drawing, to explore streams of consciousness, narrative, process, and people. He’s mainly a self-taught artist having spent years studying works of the modern masters, and many of today’s contemporary artists, infusing that with many years of reading comics, watching cartoons, and looking at fantasy and science-fiction illustrations. His latest projects are Huibert: The Most Underrated Hero to Hire and Comics DaDa.

Using an alter ego calling himself KVGir, Claudio has created a comic book in the tradition of Asterix, Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge comics and Scud the Disposable Assassin called Huibert: The Most Underrated Hero to Hire now available on GlobalComix.com

Also available through GlobalComix.com, Claudio has created Comics DaDa along the lines of his more experimental surreal comics. One of his stories has been accepted and will be published in Long River Review, an arts and literary magazine published by the University of Connecticut this May.

Nancy Zhang, a mixed-media artist from Toronto, creates visuals that convey sound and emotions. Nancy’s diverse body of work spans digital and analog mediums and formats. Her artworks have been featured in publications across North America and Asia, as well as alongside musicians and authors worldwide. Nancy’s work has graced both physical and virtual exhibitions and collections, including Scotiabank Arena’s permanent art collection and Art Toronto’s Edition Art Book Fair. A solo exhibition with the Toronto Public Library is also in the works. Nancy is a published author with books like “Farewell” (2021) and “Imagination” (2022), and the comic book series Cursed At Sea (2025). Beyond personal creations, Nancy is an experienced art director in the gaming industry, contributing her unique aesthetic to games like “Stratera” by ID34 Games and “Then Sheng’s Written” by Lalala Game Studio.

The story of Cursed At Sea goes like this: “In a world populated by elves, humans, and sea monsters, Airon the half-elf has headed out at sea in search of revenge, as well as the peace amongst three races. He joins a magical and diverse crew filled with all different hopes and dreams to fulfill.”

Daniel G. Wilson is a Jamaican-Canadian writer, musician, music journalist, and organizer based in Ontario. Much of his work deals with Caribbean and Latin American identity, Punk Rock, Jamaican history and diasporic concerns, and the exploration of folklore and speculative fiction as a tool for the communication of ideas. When he isn’t working on articles, songs, and comics, he can be found playing Zelda games and eating pie. His latest project is Zona Del Male,

Zona Del Male is described as ‘cryptids-like bigfoot meet Caribbean witches and eldritch cults’ in a collection of stories that will thrill, shock, amuse, and horrify. The anthology features more than 50 pages of A5 weird fiction/horror featuring creators and stories from across the the world sharing folklore inspired stories that explore the more frightening side of things. Following in the tradition of comic anthologies like Tales From the Crypt, Creepy, Eerie, and Taboo as well as Pulp Magazines like Weird Tales and exploitation cinema. This is a collection of stories for fans all kinds of horror.

Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ray Jamison is a comic creator and writer, who reflects on his journey into the world of comics, the influence of Dungeons & Dragons on his storytelling, and the importance of community in the comic book industry. His current project is The Madcaps comic book series supported by Kickstarter.

The Madcaps is a medieval fantasy miniseries described as a story of a brawny intellectual, a devout farmer, a good-hearted charlatan, and a social facilitator; this circle of friends shall reunite in their hometown, Ivywood. Before they can depart for employment, they are interrupted by a local drug problem which carries hidden, sinister, undertones. Can they survive the night, and what is the source of this danger? The bond amongst these friends may be the only metric to answer such questions.

Originally from Alberta, but now based in Toronto, Marcus To is an artist and illustrator who’s has been drawing since childhood. A one-year animation program in North Vancouver, involving 13-hour days, and nights spent drawing his own comics to build his portfolio, helped prepare him for his future career. After a year studying computer science, he decided to take the plunge and work with a family friend at a photography studio in Los Angeles while trying to break into the comics industry. After receiving great feedback at a Wizard World convention, he revamped his portfolio for San Diego Comicon, meeting the Aspen Comics crew and going on to work with them on such projects as Fathom and Soulfire. In 2009, he made the move to Toronto, and that same year he started working with DC. In 2010, he joined the Royal Academy of Illustration & Design, or R.A.I.D. studio, in downtown Toronto. Marcus is known for his work on such titles as X-Force, Shang-Chi, Excalibur, Red Robin, Nightwing and many more. His most recent work is Time Waits written by Chip Zdarsky and David Brothers.

Time Waits is the story of “Blue, a man trapped in the past, which is our present. Sent back in time for a mission he could not bring himself to complete, the former soldier Blue builds a life with Grace, the Sheriff of a small rural town. The pair build a foundation of happiness on a history of bloodshed, as far away from the trigger-happy corporate overlords that used Blue as a human gun. After ten years together, Blue and Grace are on the cusp of taking the next step in their relationship: adoption. Before Grace can fully convince Blue to expand their family, the future comes calling. The overlords want their first deserter and to complete the mission Blue could not. They have one simple rule: kill anyone who stands in their way.”

Léo Chiola is a French comic book artist, concept artist and illustrator, living in Montreal, Quebec. As a self taught artist, he’s also the winner of the Mad Cave Studios Talent Search 2023. Leo began his career in 2016 as a freelance comic artist on Le Garde Républicain published by Hexagon Comics and as 2D artist for the videogames “Eredan” and “Mutants: Genetic Gladiators”. In 2017, he joined the animation studio Boulder Media, owned by Hasbro, to work as a character designer on the animated TV show “Transformers: Cyberverse”. In August 2019, he settled in Canada where he worked for more than 3 years as a concept and comic artist for Digital Dimension Entertainment Group, developing the art of brand-new animated TV series such as “Chase & Catch”, “Aiko & The Masters of Time” and “Spellcasters MLM”. Leo is now a full-time storyboard artist at Gearbox (Borderlands, Duke Nukem…) and has also recently worked as a freelance illustrator for the game “Fortnite” and as cover artist for Massive Publishing.
