The President is, once again, using twitter to position himself for the tough trade talk with the EC’s President Juncker. He tweeted that he loves tariffs because it brings countries to the negotiating table. Phil Dobbie talks to NAB’s Rodrigo Catril, who says there are clear signs that oth the US sand China are preparing for a long game in the tariff war. China’s burst of confidence, irrespective of the trade threats, is helping the Aussie dollar, but will it continue if the uncertainty continues? And they look ahead to today’s CPI figures and what it could mean for the RBA policy decisions.
