President Donald Trump has posted on Truth Social that he will impose a 25 percent tariff on goods from India, plus an additional import tax. He cited India’s tariffs, nonmonetary trade barriers, and decision to buy Russian energy during the Russia–Ukraine war as reasons for the new tariff rates.

A tsunami sent waves as far as Russia, Japan, Hawaii, and the West Coast of the United States after an 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Russia’s Far East early on Wednesday. Hawaii has downgraded the tsunami warnings and lifted evacuation orders across the state while leaving a tsunami advisory in place.
