Trump is expected to speak to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by phone on Thursday, as his two-week deadline for a bilateral meeting between Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin draws closer. On Wednesday, Putin said he would agree to a meeting with Zelenskyy, but only on his home turf in Moscow.
Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday met with the families of those killed and injured in a recent shooting at a Catholic church in Minneapolis. The attacker killed two school children and injured 21 people. The vice president and Second Lady Usha Vance met privately with the pastor of the parish and the school principal. They also visited the church where the shootings took place and paid their respects to the victims and their families, laying bouquets at a memorial outside the church.
