  • Obama and Schwarzenegger face off in major political row

What’s happening in California - and why are Barack Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger campaigning against one another?

Plus, Trump meets “the chainsaw man” Javier Milei - the president of Argentina. The US are bailing out the Argentine’s flailing economy. But what about America First as the government stays shut?

And we reflect on what’s now the “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk” after he’s posthumously given the Presidential Medal of Freedom in a ceremony at the White House.

  • An extraordinary day in the drive for lasting peace in the Middle East
We are in Jerusalem and Sharm el Sheikh as hostages are returned back to Israeli families. Every living hostage now accounted for and back on Israeli soil. A moment of national catharsis for every Israeli, orchestrated by Donald Trump. He is greeted with adulation and awards as he arrives in Israel.

And then, he flies to Egypt - to sign a commitment to peace in the Middle East alongside Qatar, Turkey and Egypt.

The world's leaders come to Sharm el Sheikh to literally stand and watch as Trump holds court.

What does this all mean? Will this last? And has Trump just had one of the most successful weeks of his political career?

  • Trump in Israel for hostages return ahead of Egypt peace summit
The world turns to the Middle East as hostages held by Hamas are returned to their families in Israel on Monday after over two years in captivity.

Thousands of Palestinian prisoners will also be released from Israeli prisons in exchange.

Mark Stone is in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, and Dominic Waghorn is in Jerusalem, Israel, as President Trump flies first to Israel to speak at the Israeli Parliament and celebrate the return of the hostages, before he flies to the Sinai Peninsula.

Dozens of world leaders will follow him to Sharm el Sheikh to witness a peace summit that many hope is the start of true peace in the Middle East.

  • Trump plays peacemaker as domestic struggles grow
The fallout continues from an extraordinary day in the Middle East, as Donald Trump leads the drive for peace in the region. He'll be in Israel in the next few days ready for a photo op with returned hostages.

But away from foreign affairs, Trump's domestic in-tray expands. We're in Chicago as we reflect on a day of protests in the Windy City… against the president and the National Guard.

And another one of Donald Trump's enemies is charged with a crime.

Plus - is Marjorie Taylor Greene now siding with the Democrats?

  • Has Trump made peace in the Middle East?
Hamas and Israel agree the first phase of the Trump peace plan. A multi-country effort. Hugs in the negotiation rooms in Egypt between both sides. Tears of joy on the streets of Israel. Jubilation in Gaza.

What does this mean? What’s next? And has Trump really stopped the death and destruction in Gaza, and returned the hostages?

  • Is Trump about to invoke the Insurrection Act?
Could the president be about to invoke a centuries-old law that allows him to militarise the streets of American cities?

Plus - Mark Carney, the Canadian prime minister, is back in the White House. How did he manage renewed comments about Canada becoming the 51st American state?

The Treasury are minting a new dollar coin with Trump's face on it. It's illegal in the United States...but the administration seems hellbent on getting it into circulation next year. Is this the start of an American monarchy?

And the Attorney General Pam Bondi faces senators. It is spiky to say the least. We digest.

  • Is the Supreme Court about to grant Trump even more power?
The most unpopular Supreme Court ever is back in session. Will the justices continue to expand the president’s powers?

The government is still shut down. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans seem to be backing down. What next?

Plus - will the president secure the Middle East peace he needs to boost his Nobel Peace Prize ambitions before the winner is announced on Friday?

  • Trump's war on drugs
Donald Trump declared war on drugs when he re-entered the White House in January - declaring cartels and gangs terrorist organisations.

There have now been two occasions where the US military has taken lethal force against boats allegedly carrying drugs.

One place on the frontline of Trump's anti-drug policy is Ecuador, where our chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay has embedded with law enforcement on drug raids.

Stuart joins Mark Stone to discuss how the US attitude to policing drugs has changed, and how Trump is pushing back against cartels.

You can watch Stuart's piece here on YouTube: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=529gA24wDWE

  • Trump wages war on woke as the government shuts down
The government shuts down for the first time since 2018. Parks close - flights could get cancelled.

Trump and the Democrats stare off and neither are blinking.

And could the army be about to get rid of women, beards and overweight soldiers?

The 'warrior ethos' is laid out by War Secretary Pete Hegseth in front of the most important generals in the land.

  • Sir Tony Blair; the next prime minister of Gaza?
A new 20-point plan for what tomorrow looks like in Gaza. Netanyahu agrees with it. Trump is triumphant. But will Hamas agree to their own extinction, and to a role in Gaza for a man widely despised among Palestinians for his role in the Iraq war?

Plus - can Congress avoid a shutdown? Or will hundreds of thousands be missing out a pay check soon?

And all the president’s men get a beating at Bethpage Black in the Ryder Cup.
