Imagine preparing for a major performance, and you get hit with a major injury! Savannah Jones (@sav.plays.piano) joins Trust the Process as the first non-brass musician, and first collegiate guest of the show.

Today I share my story with injury as a collegiate trumpeter, that is STILL ONGOING. I share how before my injury, I did not honor the needs of REST and RECOVERY that my body had, and paid the price, losing out on international tours, teaching opportunities, recording sessions, and many other things.

BUT...

I also share how my FAITH gave me the CLARITY we ALL can have during an injury, regardless of belief system. I share the lessons I have learned, and why I was motivated to start this podcast. 

We can't rush recovery, or growth, just like a tree growing slowly but surely EVERY DAY.

One thing is certain: no matter what, going through injury as a musician is HARD. One thing that will help ANY musician get through ANYTHING, is digging deep and finding out WHY you are actually a musician in the first place.

In this first ever SOLO episode we aren't wasting any time in this episode, just YOU and ME getting down to the brass tacks of WHY you are doing what you do, and WHY you are continuing to be a musician through hardship.
