In this chapter we see two bad kings. Jeroboam is king of the northern kingdom of Israel, and Rehoboam is king of the southern kingdom of Judah.

In chapter 12 we saw the kingdom was divided. In chapter 13 we will see how Jeroboam caused Israel to sin.

During the Reign of Rehoboam the Son of Solomon we will see the Kingdom of Israel is divided.

In Pastor Kevin Akana's study of I Kings 11 we will see the downfall of Solomon's kingdom.

In chapter 10 Solomon is visited by the Queen of Sheba. Her response to what she sees and hears is "the half has not been told."

In this chapter the LORD appears to Solomon a second time. The LORD tells King Solomon that he heard his prayer. If he follows Him as did David his father follow the LORD, then his kingdom will be established. If he forsakes the LORD by following and worshipping false gods, then his kingdom will be cut off. This is God's warning to King Solomon.

Pastor Kevin Akana continues this chapter by chapter study of 1 Kings. In chapter 8 we see Solomon leading the nation in dedicating the Temple to the LORD.

First Solomon built the Temple which took him seven years to construct. In chapter 7 Pastor Kevin Akana will look at Solomon's construction of his own house.

In this chapter we see a detailed description of the temple. The nation worshipped at the Tabernacle for 400 years, but now they something more permanent.

In this chapter we see the beginning of the building of the Temple. This was the most magnificent structure ever built. It was estimated that today it would cost a trillion dollars to be built.
