Today bob says farewell to his close friend and fellow minister, Ian Anderson (On right in Picture-Bob is on the left). Both Ian and Bob served together in the same church body. On today’s program, Bob shares some recordings Ian made for Bob’s Ancient Word Radio project (http://ancientwordradio.com) that are both entertaining and inspiring.  Bob believes that you will find hope in today’s edition of the program.

Last week, before Bob and his wife headed off to Virginia to help their daughter and son-in-law settle into a new home, Bob got a phone call from a ministry friend letting him know that one of their fellow clergy had unexpectedly passed away. Bob was broken hearted to learn of the passing of Bishop Ian Anderson (On left in Picture-Bob is on the right) the day after Easter. Bob will be traveling for the funeral which is Wednesday (4/14/2021) in St. Augustine, Florida. On today’s episode Bob shares some thoughts about the fragility of this life, but also our Hope.

When does the Church rise up and be the church? When does the church stop being cowards and crumbling in their faith? When does the true church divorce itself from the spiritual harlots and earth worshipers? On today’s edition Bob takes on that topic and shares the story of a pastor with true courage. He also shares the words of a prophecy given by a clergyman back in the 1600s which was for this very time in which we live.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” These words from Proverbs 1:7 are extremely fitting in this time in which we live. The world lives in a pandemic of fear but has mostly ceased in any “fear of the Lord.” Again, in Proverbs we read “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10) 

For over a year, we have listened to worldwide experts that have continually got it wrong with the pandemic, and now even churches are allowing themselves to be deceived. We are divided one against the other, and the damage being caused may never be repaired. Despite that bad news, there is good news also to be found.
