Does the account of the rich, young ruler in the gospels show that Jesus taught that we could obtain eternal life by keeping the commandments of the law to the best of our ability?

It can seem that way--unless we really pay attention.

Let's not gloss over the lesson Jesus taught not only to this rich, young man, but also to His disciples around Him and to us today.

What are we trusting for God's acceptance? Jesus Christ Himself is the answer!

Chelsea and I exhibited Castle Rock Women's Health at the Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference hosted by the Christian Home Educators of Colorado.

Taking a few short breaks from the exhibit I carried my portable recording gear with me. I found some exhibits with hosts willing to talk for a few minutes and pitch their services to a Truthspresso audience.

In this episode I talk about the challenges that faced the conference this year and how God worked out the details.

Notable speakers at the conference were George Barna and Heidi St. John.

May 30, 2024 is a day that will live in infamy! Donald Trump became the first former President of the United States to be brought to court on felony charges and have a jury reach a verdict of guilty. Not to mention that this happened while he is currently running for President again and is the highest polling candidate.

The ripple effects of this historical day will be felt indefinitely. The debates will rage over whether or not this was justice or merely political lawfare.

In part 2, we observe the controversies around Judge Merchan and his daughter as well as Matthew Colangelo. We then look at the pre-trial events from Trump's arraignment to the beginning of the trial, including motions to dismiss and gag orders. We also see a bit of the jury selection process and what the 12 primary jurors could have told us about what the likely verdict would be.

On May 11, Harrison Butker, a devout Roman Catholic, and a kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, gave a commencement speech at Benedictine College to talk about traditional Catholic values.

Butker praised his wife for being a homemaker. This made the wokesters in the media pull out their hair.

Although I am not Roman Catholic, I agree with what Butker said about his wife and defend him against his critics.

He also has his supporters, including the family of the CEO of his NFL team. We also hear from Bill Maher and Sage Steele.

We have heard the saying that the two most certain things are death and taxes. Rarely do governments repeal any of the many taxes they impose.

However, a bunch of politicians in Congress and some in the Senate want to "repeal" a certain "tax" as a matter of social justice. This "tax" is the so-called "pink tax."

Because women may pay more on average for certain products and services than men, activists call this extra expense the "pink tax." Congress has proposed the "Pink Tax Repeal Act" for the fifth time! Perhaps they will finally "repeal" the "pink tax."

Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey has studies showing female products with higher prices than similar non-female products. Is this because companies like to oppress women and gouge them for more money?

In this episode we look at some products and services to see if there aren't other explanations for why prices can differ.

We observe King Ahab whining that Naboth won't sell him a particular vineyard at the price Ahab offered as a Biblical example for why Christians shouldn't fall for victim mentality schemes like the "pink tax."

The "pink tax" is not a tax, and we don't need a law with chilling effects to "repeal" it.

My wife Chelsea returns after several weeks to co-host with me again for a Mother's Day episode.

First, we see how current dictionaries define mother.

Next, we discuss mothers in various situations and how Mother's Day may be difficult for some mothers.

Finally, we look at the examples of Lois and Eunice (Timothy's grandmother and mother respectively) and how a Christian mother's nurturing faith can endure for generations.

Looking at the recent "pro-Palestine" protesters taking over college campuses and setting up tent encampments, I observe their strange an nuanced demands.

Many of the protesters don't even know why they're protesting!

The reason these college kids oppose Israel and "support Palestine" seems not because they're intrinsically antisemitic, but because they've been indoctrinated with cultural Marxism.

Cultural Marxism and any other manifestation of Marxism is destructive and degrading. The solution is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
