Often, we don't know how to pray, where to start or we wonder if we're praying in line with God's will. In Acts 4, we see a practical step we can take to address all of these issues - Pray Scripture. After facing persecution, the early church believers use the Scriptures to interpret and pray in light of their circumstances and ask for boldness to continue proclaiming the gospel. God hears their prayer and fills them with the Holy Spirit for bold proclamation of the good news!

In Luke 11, one of Jesus' disciples asks him, "Lord, teach us to pray." Jesus then provides a template for prayer that begins with addressing God as Father. This is foundational to understanding what prayer actually is. Prayer is not about getting answers and stuff from God....prayer is about "getting" God himself.

What do we do when God seems silent? Psalm 77 shows us how to bring our doubts and despair honestly to God, remember His faithfulness, and anchor ourselves in what He has done when our feelings tell us He is absent. Even in seasons of despair and doubt, we can trust that God is still with us and leading us.

After his adultery with Bathsheba and murder of Uriah to cover it up, Psalm 32 describes King David’s burden of sin followed by the blessing of God’s forgiveness. But is this freedom everything David received from God, or was there more?
"And you forgave the guilt of my sin."

What if the fear that shapes your life isn't meant to be the fear of failure, rejection, or the opinions of others but the fear of the Lord? In Psalm 128, we'll discover how reverent awe of God frees us from the fear of man and leads to a life of joyful obedience, deep blessing, and lasting impact on those around us.

God, the creator of the universe, is infinitely more powerful than we could ever know, and yet present in all situations with us. Psalm 139 gives us a beautiful picture of God’s intimate knowledge of us and how His presence is inescapable. May our lives be marked by being know and making God known.

In Psalm 34, we discover how fear of God becomes the antidote to our fears of circumstances, people, and the future. Through worship, remembrance, and obedience, David shows us how to move from anxiety to trust as we learn to “taste and see that the Lord is good.”
