Elon Musk has finally clinched the on-off deal for Twitter with a deal quoted as an over-priced $44 billion. He is now proposing an extension of the site’s blue tick badge scheme for $8 a month. Millions of users are threatening to quit.
His actions over the last few months have been that of an enormously wealthy vaccilating adolescent.
At times he reflected market opinion that his object of desire was too expensive, and arguably mutton dressed up to look like lamb.

In his first day as PM, Rishi Sunak assembled a Cabinet. He has included members regardless of political differences. This differs from the decisions of Boris Johnson, and even more so of Liz Truss who preferred the approach of choosing loyalists.
The most controversial appointment is Suella Braverman, purveyor of right wing muscular views on immigration. Braverman is popular with party members. She had resigned or been sacked for cavalier disregard for security precautions. Her re-appointment as Home Secretary is already seen as an unwise move, presumed to be a political necessity.

We learn of a long-running feud at Meniscus involving John Keane, and a fellow scientist, Julian Callender, which may have influenced John Keane in his departure for Urmston University.

His health had deteriorated and is experiencing a period of recovery for hospitalisation. The head of the Laboratory, Dr Trescothick has been informed, and intends to visit him when he has sufficiently. recovered.
