Grand County has nearly $300,000 set aside from their transient room tax promotions budget for responsible trail messaging. Although the money was earmarked back in February, talks about ‘stay on the trail’ messaging stalled out. A county commissioner is hoping to re-start the conversation, and is welcoming citizen ideas and input. Plus, Arches and Canyonlands National Park staff want visitors to ‘pack their patience’ amidst expected traffic delays, crowded trails, and limited parking this Memorial Day Weekend.
