The United States and Vietnam have elevated their ties to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is one of the highest designations in Vietnam's foreign relations. This was announced during Joe Biden's recent visit to Hanoi. Joe Biden is the second ever sitting U.S. President to visit Vietnam. The two countries fought one of the most prolonged, brutal, costly and tragic wars since the end of the Second World War. And now the two countries seemed to have come a long way.
