TV Pilot’s License

Happy new year folks and to us it wouldn’t be a new year without discussing some absolute dumpster fires that 2025 brought us. It’s our grand holiday tradition of discussing shows that both premiered and got canceled in our year of the Lord 2025. First we discuss the Grosse Pointe Garden Society a charming little murder mystery show, then we kick it over to Suits LA a charming little murder mystery show, then Geoff rounds us out with the TV adaptation of cruel intentions, a charming little murder mystery show.

Excited to show you all what 2026 will bring. Thanks for being along on the ride.

Clean up in 157!

It’s Superstore week! It’s maybe the most relatable show we have ever covered at TVPL because of how many Americans have worked retail at some point in their career journey. We talk workplace flirting, crystal meth, gun play, plastic jewelry, abandoning babies and scaring sanitation workers.

Superstore stars America Ferreira, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Mark McKinney, Nichole Sakura, Nico Santos.

You’re telling me the star of The Running Man is playing a quarterback? Thanks a lot Patrick Mahomes.

Welcome to Chad Powers week everyone! The Hulu series based on a YouTube video, produced by the Manning brothers which weirdly feels like an ad for Raising Canes and Allstate insurance.

Join us as we talk second chances, power conferences, movie prosthetics, and Rich’s limited understanding of football in general.

Starring who else but Scream Queen and future Secretary of Defense Glen Powell, Perry Mattfeld, Steve Zahn, Frankie A Rodriguez and more!

This week we’re talking about everyone’s favorite, charismatic young politician from Queens…Garrett Modi? It’s a brand new TVPL covering Sunnyside! Created by writer Matt Murray and Kal Penn with executive producer Mike Schur, this NBC comedy may not have had the best polling numbers but does it deserve your vote? With a cast of bright young stand ups including Joel Kim Booster and Moses Storm, this show takes a comedic approach to real world issues and the US immigrant experience, even if the plot may remind us a bit too much of another 21st century NBC comedy. Listen now and be sure to subscribe for new episodes every Thursday!
