  • 0405 Virgilio Calderon talks Fandom Revolution
In this episode, Jonnyroobs virtually reunites with one of his longtime friends Virgilio Calderon from Virginia Beach. He discusses his life and provides fascinating info/ insight on the fantasy/game role-playing culture. Also, Virgilio talks about a future event in the Hampton Roads/ Coastal Virginia community called Fandom Revolution.
    Official synopsis of Fandom Revolution:
The Most Intimate and Diverse Creator Event in Hampton Roads! Introducing the Fandom Revolution, a conference like no other. We’re challenging you to celebrate the true
value of your own creative identity — to embrace the diversity of the artistic community around you — and to step up to the plate to address the stereotypes that could be holding us all back from something greater!
This is a mission to bring ideas, fresh energy, and a renewed sense of community to all fandom here in Hampton Roads — theater players, cosplayers, historical reenactors, live-action role players, and other genres.
    We are all one.
The Fandom Revolution conference is committed to identifying ways to meet the various needs that will bring everyone to the table. We'll keep going until we connect the dots!

  • 0223 Facing My Depression & More [9/21 EXTENDED VERSION]
Jonnyroobs: “Podcasting is my therapy on handling this latest round of depression that I’m facing. I needed this. It’s even better having my best friend of 25 years around and chat with him about it among other things that are on my mind. This MUST-HEAR episode means a lot to me. I may have went through this low point in my life but it also ushered in a more confident, livelier version of myself.” [New 9/15 extended version now contains an audio-bit from one of my supportive friends and listeners. It’s towards the end of this episode. She provides her own feedback stressing her five points. Everything mentioned is solely her opinion on what was discussed. Also, another longtime best friend Kendrick (from episode 0215) talks about his experience with depression as well. He also wishes Jonnyroobs the best on getting through with this….More power to the freedom of speech here!]

About Twenty400 Block

From the publisher's feed

The inspiration for this podcast originated on the 2400 block of a Norfolk, Virginia neighborhood, where Jonnyroobs and his brothers grew up as latchkey kids, learning from TV, radio, publications, and neighbors their age. These influences evolved into discussions among themselves and others, which Jonnyroobs many years later continued on the podcasting platform.
