In this interview I speak with Sacramento, California based model Lexy Nicole and Southern California based wedding and portrait photographer, Troy Miller. We discuss some of the misconceptions both new and experienced photographers and models have when it comes to who pays whom. This is not a simple topic as the payment expectations goes both ways. • Exploring Papua New Guinea
In this interview I sit down with Peter Levshin to discuss his recent trip to Papua New Guinea. We discuss preparation, his gear choices, navigating a different culture and more.
Peter was born in Sydney, Australia and has lived in Los Angeles since 1988 with his wife, Linda, four children and six grandchildren. Peter came from a creative family – his father was a painter and his mother designed ceramics, pottery, as well as tapestries.
Peter’s photographs are simple, ethereal, mystical and always have a dramatic atmosphere. He captures bold colors that make a statement, yet the simple subjects create a sense of drama. Peter wants the viewer to feel a connection with his artwork. A selection from his full body of work is currently displayed with Premier Artists Collection, where prints are available for purchase.

  • The Art of Seeing – with Ken Lee
In this interview I speak with Ken Lee from ArtofSeeing.com. Ken has a unique perspective when it comes to creativity and “seeing”. He regularly speaks on the topic, and it’s facinating to hear him speak about some fundamental ways you can choose to “see” that will dramatically change your photography. Ken says creativity is a “muscle”, that can be strengthened.
About Ken Lee (In his own words…)
I make pictures. All kinds of pictures but mostly nature and travel pictures. I’m passionate about making images but also the creative process that produces them. I’ve learned some key lessons on my journey as a photographer.  Among the most important are that Seeing is a skill and Creativity is a muscle. The Photographer’s Eye is something anyone can learn.
I also enjoy helping others grow as photographers. My favorite way of doing this is to take small groups of people to amazing places and working on both the craft and creative aspects of image making together. I call it a Whole Brain approach to photography.
You don’t have to go to amazing places to learn to See, but it’s more fun that way ;-).
