The Lost Book of The White
It's the "Cassie's Book Club" return!
How has been waiting for this? No one!
It is true that here at The Two and a Half Chicks Book Club we're prone to a bit of Cassandra Claire. It's our childhood, our comfort characters. And let's be honest - much easier to follow than to start another whole book series with a brand new world and insane family tree.
This time we're reading "The Lost Book of The White", part of the Malec centric series "The Eldest Curses". We're simple people - We see Malec, we read!
Join us in discussing what we thought of the book and the journey of the series overall. Opinions seems to diverge and converge at the same time.
Pride and Prejudice
Who are these hosts reading classics and what did they do to the old ones!?
For the first time in our book club, we're reading a proper classic novel. The story that introduced so many booklovers to this fantastical world. The romance that inspired the dark and mysterious love interest that we know today.
This month we decided to give Pride and Prejudice a go. It was about time that we dove into this timeless romance.
As usual, not a lot of book talk gets done in this episode - but if you're into Marvel, this is the podcast for you (apparently)!
Join us in an unhinged episode where we even consider a re-brand. I mean... is this really a book club? Do we talk about books? Sometimes. But do we do it enough?

Anxious People
Can you guess which one of us got a splitting headache from reading it?
We decided to give this book a go after the other half gifted it to Catarina with the words "Look, it's you!" as they pointed at the tile. Were they right? Yes!
But it turned out to be much more than that; In this episode, we discuss how Anxious People and its themes helped us deal with our own mental issues and perception of the world. The ride from the beginning to the end of the book was a wild one and we can't wait to share it with you!
If you haven't read it, please give it a go. Which character is your favourite? Which one do you relate to the most? (careful, for these, are not the same question).
The Cheat Sheet
For the month of February, we decided to read something on the romantic side. We were also meant to read something on the spicy side... so you can imagine how sad we were by the end of the month.
Although we might not have a lot to say about the book or even an informative review to give, you can always count on us to ramble on and on during an episode. Again, it's part of the charm!
Joins on a romantic episode with a lot of (not very helpful tips) on how to impress that beautiful specimen you've been crushing on. And let us know if you have read the book in the comments! What tact from the cheat sheet is sure to win your heart? Personally, we like winking.
Heartstopper
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman is our January BOTM! And there's nothing fishy about that...
In order to please both parties of this book club, we decided to read something sweet and short.
In this first episode of the year (and the first episode of season 2 of the podcast), we spend about 10 minutes discussing how adorable the characters are, and the remaining half hour rambling on and on about anything and everything... Nothing you're not used to already XD
So join us in our first episode of 2022, and let us know your thoughts on Heartstopper.

The spooky season might be over, but we're keeping the spirit alive in our little corner of the internet.
In this episode, we discuss our October BOTM Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.
A bit of backstory about how we came to read this book; Catarina turns to Debora and says "We should read a spooky book for Haloween, but since we're both pussies, none of us wants to read something overly scary, nor do we know where to look for such books" So we did what we usually do in times of need - we texted Raquel. And after a very informative TikTok and a lot of back and forth, we're finally here.
Prepare yourselves for an hour-long episode (yes, you read that right), filled with character analysis, more pleas to get characters into therapy, and a thrilling discussion on motherhood from two people that have no business discussing the matter.

Happy September!
Yes, the episode is late, but there is a vail reason! Your dear co-hosts were actually in the same country for 2 whole weeks and had every intention to record together. BUT… Obviously, life got in the way and that didn’t happen, and now we’re here – Recording the same way we always have; Apart.
In this episode, we discuss our September BOTM Chain or Iron (Not gold as we keep saying) by Cassandra Clare. Her books have become a book club classic, and with the third one approaching, we had to get it out of the way.
As always, please don’t expect an actual review or commentary of what we read. We don’t do that here. Instead, we explore our favourite troupes and make one very special request. Please get in contact if you’re able to fulfil it.

Today is the day!
No, it's not the day we release the Chain Of Iron episode. And yes, we know that it's late, but we promise that it's coming soon. Please don't murder us.
Today is the day we release the Halloween Special we didn't tell you about. It's a little surprise that we prepared for you due to the occasion. Don't you just love a good ghost story during the spooky season? Yes! Well, then you're in luck.
Join us as we explore the history behind the Borley Rectory, considered to be the most haunted house in England, and only 2 hours away from @Whimsical_Debora's house! What a treat!

How are we feeling this month? Summer is nearly over, leaves are starting to fall, and at least one of us has already had a PSL. With Autumn comes new reads and cosy stories, but before all that, we had to finish off summer on the right foot.
In this episode, we talk about our August BOTM “Daisy Jones & The Six” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. And because we are talking about the legend, the myth, the goddess that is TJR, we had Raquel from the "Brain Dead Bookclub" joins us as a special guest.
I could lie and tell you that this is a thorough review of the book and that our debate is insightful and informative, but it's mostly us simping over TJR and her writing. OBVIOUSLY! With such complex character and vibrant setting, of course, we have no other choice but to be captivated by the story. Although the format was hard to adjust to for most of us, once that barrier was crossed we couldn't help but fall in love with this book. So that's what this episode is - A lover letter to this story.
Should we do "Malibu Rising" at some point? Nah, maybe not... OR.... Should we? Maybe. Yeah? Maybe.

How are we this month? It feels like we just saw each other two weeks ago. I promise you that this time we have all done our homework this month and are presenting you with an actual book review episode.
In this episode, we talk about our June book “The Crown of Gilded Bones” by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Join us in a thrilling conversation about beginnings, middles and endings.
If are sick and tired of hearing us talking about how every character in every book ever needs therapy... you're going to hear it again cause we will fight for this till our dying day! At least this time we try to be helpful and pinpoint exactly which issues each character has that can be discussed in their sessions. You're welcome characters!
Also, did you know that "Mermaid Melody" is about mermaids? Yeah, neither did we!
