Welcome to another episode of “Two and a Half Chicks ‘Not A’ Bookclub”! Where some of us read the books that we were meant to read and others can’t be bothered. With life getting in the way of reading duties, we have made the executive decision to roll over the book to next month and make up a special episode of this month.

In this episode, we discuss our views on smut in the YA and NA genres and how its rise in popularity has both affected and been caused by the consuming audience. There is also some book talk, but only to justify the “Bookclub” part of the title.

Here we are once again. Funny how our monthly podcast happens every month isn't it? ... It wasn't funny, was it? Sorry for that, we're all getting used to socializing with people. Even socializing between the two of us is difficult sometimes. 

In this episode, we talk about our May book “Scythe” by Neil Shusterman. Be prepared for a thrilling episode with diverging points and diverging themes! 

Once again we talk about how most of the characters in this book would benefit from therapy. We also talk about romance and how it is used in YA and NA novels. As always we shared successful and failed theories, as well as parallels we found in the storyline. All in all, this is a comeback to the typical "Two and a Half Chicks" episode where we ramble for half the time about sweet nothings and spend the rest giving out a not-so-helpful review of the book...

As promised, here is the second episode of April! This time we have a very special guest with us 'drumroll'... RAQUEL! From the Brain Dead Book Club! She has been brought into the podcast through a buddy-read initiative with Catarina. 

In this episode, we talk about one of our April books “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This is part of our initiative to read each other’s favourite book from 2020.

So, in this episode, we cover a lot of ground. We cover each husband (some of them in more detail than others), and everything else happening in Evelyn's life. In this episode, we talk about one of our April books “From Blood and Ash” by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This is part of our initiative to read each other’s favourite book from 2020.

Little secret… we filmed this episode in our pj’s one hour after waking up. Sorry for all the grogginess and raspy voices. We talk about the experience that is reading From Blood Ash. Casteel. We diverge slightly into Twilight talk. Casteel. And we wrap up with some technical difficulties. There’s a cut in this episode – can you spot it?

Also, we mispronounce Casteel a lot. Like, a lot, A LOT! So please forgive us. We were sleepy, okay?

So, long time no see, huh? Sorry about that, it’s our bad. This month has been very productive (for one of us at least), so we were only able to record now. But better late than never, right?

In this episode, we talk about our March book “Chain of Gold” by Cassandra Clare. This is one of those episodes where we actually talk about the book, instead of just going on and on about our own lives… and it’s 2 hours long! How about that?

We cover a lot of ground on this one, from character trauma to our Magnus Bane Fanclub/cult. Watch us as we slowly turn this book club into a Cassandra Claire stan book club instead.
