On Friday, January 11th, 2013, a group of girls sat in a high school gymnasium to fill out some surveys. Next to them was the storage area for wrestling mats - large, six feet by three feet when rolled up. One of the students noticed some socks pointing upwards from one of the vertical mats. Inside, they find 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson. Lowndes High School (LHS) of Valdosta, GA would never be the same. The cause of death has been so widely contested, even to this day almost 7 years later. Was Kendrick the victim of a tragic accident, or something more intentional?

In their beds, while they slept. In today's episode we're talking about the familicide perpetrated by Ronald ('Butch') DeFeo Jr., and what might have possessed him to do it. Okay, bad pun.

Most of us are familiar with this crime, so we dug a little bit deeper to bring lesser known facts and some perspective on who Elizabeth was to those who knew her. Then we cover the usual suspects, and one pretty strong case that claims to have unmasked the killer.
