Two Men and a Doc

In a time when going to the doctor can be a bit of a headache in itself many are turning to telemedicine.  The Doc tells us about the types of cases he treats, what he can and can't do on a call, and when, if ever, does the camera gets turned on.  As technology continues to improve it's a good look into the future (present?) of how treating patients is changing.  Plus, we check back in on COVID-19 and what feels like either the sequel to the first wave or perhaps the tsunami we were all hoping was never going to happen.

"The things people do," the nurse said to the Doc when they were discussing the man who had recently come into the OR.  Let's just say he had put something on and couldn't get it off... for 4 days.  That's when The Doc got the call.  Turns out this was no easy task.  The Doc takes us through it (and unfortunately for us shows us some pictures).

A baby is born with a genital birth defect.  Surgery is performed and the baby goes home.  15 years later it's revealed mistakes were made and the patient is back in the hospital.  This time the Doc was there.  He tells us the story of what happened and what shocked everyone that day in the operating room.

Recorded back in February, 2020 when it was no big deal to hop on a flight and The Doc was the only one of the three of us to wear a mask.  The Doc tells us about a trip he took to Sacramento to witness a new form of elective surgery he can perform in his office, potentially giving many men a far more accessible option to fix a common problem.  A surgery that otherwise would require general anesthesia and a day in a hospital now becomes as simple as an office visit.  Hear how technology continue to help medicine evolve in new and unique ways.
