  • WealthWellnessWednesday with Whitney Prude - 10.19.22

TwoSistas welcomed to today’s podcast on this WealthWellnessWednesday, October 19, 2022, Whitney Prude.  Whitney is a Board Certified Clinical Pharmacist, a Nationally Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a professional speaker, entrepreneur and CEO of Whole & Happy Living, a local and virtual health and wellness coaching company, focused on helping burned out working professionals to attain high-level wellness so they can reclaim their health, reach new heights of energy and vitality, and discover new ways to thrive in their lives and careers.

Whitney’s true passion is helping others achieve sustainable lifestyle changes by focusing on the health and wellness of the WHOLE person instead of focusing solely on dieting and weight loss. Whitney’s expertise lies in accessing the power of the mind, increasing self-awareness, becoming educated on proper health practices from reputable sources, and embracing the power of the individual self by discovering one's inner purpose, passion and motivation to produce lasting lifestyle changes.

Whitney gave such amazing tips not only from a personal standpoint, but from a professional one.  While she is a Board Certified Pharmacist, many of her clients want to achieve getting off their meds and she works with them individually.  She also offered her insight on “medications” in general.  For instance, while we might aim to get off of our medications, some are essentially needed!

Whitney also offered a great tip for just “starting” with of course the most important one, “start small”.  “Start from where you are.”  (Start to slowly add those healthy changes that you want to make.  For instance, exercise or movement means different things to everyone.  You may want to start with going for a 5-minute walk 3/per week.)

Thank you so much Whitney!  You are truly an amazing guest and we so appreciated your insight on what it means to have a sustainable lifestyle.

  • TriumphTuesday @ Night - 10.18.22

TwoSistas and it’s TriumphTuesday @ Night this October 18, 2022.   What is happening in the world today as things go haywire?  Not sure that we can adequately answer that but we each shared our thoughts on the “clown”, “mid-term elections”, the speaker with “denture issues”, and how our world seems to be turned upside down.

We triumph over adversity sometimes in ways in which we did not anticipate which also means, if you have to turn off the news, then do it!

We would love to hear your thoughts on what we chatted about on this episode.  We always welcome opposing viewpoints.  Please feel free to go to our website and leave us a voice message - we would love to hear from you!

  • MindsetMonday - 10.17.22

TwoSistas and it’s MindsetMonday this October 17, 2022.  We all know that mindset is the key and yes, this is a subject we have chatted about for ions (529 Episodes to be exact.)  This is one of those subjects which we just can’t say enough (I know, we chat about this alot!)  The fact is that we have to give ourselves the opportunity to have grace for ourselves and others where mindset is considered.

The bottom line is that we never know what someone else is going through and vice versa.  It’s okay to acknowledge how we feel, maybe reach out to a family member or friend and take things in stride.  A simple gesture to reach out even to someone that you don’t know (such as a veteran, health care worker, police officer or fire / emergency personnel) and say thank you.  Create the magic in the ripple effect - it will go a long way!

On this Monday, October 17th, well we all know Janis is a history buff and she found this interesting article you may be interested in reading:

TwoSistas and it’s FantabulousFriday, October 14, 2022.  How do you celebrate what you have accomplished when the “news” is so saddening beyond words?  One day at a time . . .

Waking up with a grateful heart, fasting update (grossness in the gut, sewer lines) and a little in between.

It goes without saying that our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and local law enforcement in Bristol, Connecticut.

Don’t forget that through it all, we always have a way to make it a Fantabulous Friday!

  • WealthWellnessWednesday with Rachel Venokur - 10.12.22

TwoSistas and it’s WealthWellnessWednesday, October 12, 2022, with Rachel Venokur.  Rachel is a Certified Health and Nutrition Coach for people living with autoimmune or other chronic conditions.  She coaches others with autoimmune disease transition from letting their disease control everything, to owning their lives again.  It’s about empowerment and taking action in such a way that compliments, and yes changes, our lifestyle.

Rachel is no stranger to the autoimmune world.  While living in LA, her world was flipped upside down in a way she could have never imagined.  She decided at that point to move back to New York to be with her family and friends.  It was through the transition of understanding and changing her lifestyle that she learned more and more about holistic health.

Rachel explained that it takes typically on average 8 years and 4 different doctors for a person to obtain a diagnosis of an autoimmune issue.  Once you are diagnosed, chances are at some point that you will come down with other autoimmune inflictions such as Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis.  (Rachel has (3) different autoimmune issues.)

Not only does going through a medical crisis reac havoc on your overall health and wellness but your mental health and mindset becomes frazzled and being overwhelmed takes on a new meaning.  Rachel is all about empowering yourself to educate and become a part of the solution.  Getting a diagnosis can feel as if your life has been flipped upside down.  This will help you to have those healthy conversations with your medical practitioner.

Rachel guides her clients and through effective ways to manage their disease.  Every client is unique and Rachel’s approach incorporates a dive into:

    -Anti-inflammatory and plant-based nutrition

    -Stress management and finding balance

    -Learning to advocate for yourself

-Finding the right team of doctors

    -Mental mindset

TwoSistas and it’s MindsetMonday on Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day, October 10, 2022.  We love history and the fact that we are able to learn from history is so very important!  While things have gone awry these past couple of years, it’s important to point out that we can’t erase our history; we learn from our history to make whatever changes which need to be made.  It starts with having an open and honest discussion; we open ourselves up to learn, to listen and to collaborate with others.

How do we learn from history?  We would love to hear your thoughts and appreciate ALL opinions!  Go to our website and leave us a voice message:

  • TriumphTuesday @ Night - 10.04.22

TwoSistas and it’s TriumphTuesday @ Night on October 4, 2022.  It’s been quite a while since we have been on @ Night; in fact, our last @ Night together was TrendingThursday, August 11th - so just about 2 months.  What can happen in 2 months?  A lot!!

Think about how time goes by so quickly - that’s one of the reasons it is so important to stop and smell the roses!  Take note of what is around you and if you find yourself over stimulated by all of the news alerts, etc., it’s time to step back, perhaps listen to some music, whatever it might be for you.

TriumphTuesday is all about celebrating those triumphant milestones - even those little steps you take to move closer to your goal should be celebrated!

A catch up of the weather in the Northeast and yes, Janis’ changing of the summer to winter wardrobe has begun and she pulled out the flannel sheets today!  What’s in store for you and how did you triumph?

  • MindsetMonday - 10.03.22

TwoSistas and it’s MindsetMonday, October 3, 2022 - the first Monday in October.  We just love the start of a new month and of course we love MindsetMonday’s!!

The art of social media and communication seems to be going a little haywire lately.  Social media is just that - social, we get it.  However, when the art of communication may be misconstrued as something different, that’s where assumptions seem to creep in.  No one likes or enjoys assumptions; yet sometimes we are caught up in it.

What if we just picked up the phone and called our family or friend?  Wouldn’t that be much better rather than just assuming?  We think so!

How do you connect with family and friends?  When was the last time you picked up the phone and called a loved one?  Just hearing the sound of someone’s voice and having that heartfelt conversation is amazing and how amazing would that be for the receiver as well!!!  Share your thoughts with us!  Go to our website and leave us a voice message:
