  • Episode 4 - Life on the Farm

Welcome to Episode 4! We are so glad you are still along for the ride, and we hope you are enjoying what you are hearing/watching.

We kick this episode off by sharing our plans to attend the William Chris Valentine's Dinner in February. As members, we get access to this thoughtful experiences, and this is our favorite event of the year. We not only get to taste great wine, we get to hear about it from the wine makers and winery owners. Not to mention, we also get to enjoy great food pairings. It is just fabulous! We plan to spend the whole weekend in the Hill Country as we enjoy the moment together as sisters.

What is today's episode about? Well, we talk about how we grew up on a farm. The smell of hay bring back the memories of life on the farm -- simple, rugged, and unforgettable.

Our key takeaway and how it developed us into who we are is how the farm taught us responsibility. And it taught us this long before most kids even had chores at all.

We both share how rewarding it was growing up the way we did. We felt a connection to the land, to animals, and to our family that we would never take back. We loved working side-by-side our parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It didn't get better than that.

We close out and reflect on how our childhood made us who we are today -- stronger, wiser, and more adaptable.

  • Episode 3 - The Dynamics of Divorce

Welcome to Episode 3 - The Dynamics of Divorce.

We open up the episode by sharing two of our favorite wines from the Texas Hill Country.

Deana shares a wine from William Chris's sister winery, Uplift, in Burnet, Texas - The Whitlock.  Whitlock is a highly-rated, rich, and intense red blend, knows for its elegance, and deep fruit flavors like black cherry and blueberry, with deep notes of dark chocolate and graphite. It's a Bordeaux-style blend, featuring Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, that is smooth yet powerful. The name honors the historic Whitlock family, the first settlers in the Hoover Valley region where the vineyard in located.

Becki showcases the Avignon blend from Ab Astris Winery out of Stonewall, Texas. Avignon is a Rhone-syle red wine blend from the Texas High Plains, featuring grapes like Grenache, Mourvèdre, Consult, and Petite Sirah. It is known for its complex red fruit, spice, and earthy notes. It is often compared to a Pinot Noir for its lighter body and fruit-forward profile, but with added complexity from its blend of grapes.

Divorce can be complicated, emotional, and sometimes even transformative.  Today, we're exploring what makes divorce challenging and in some cases rewarding. We share personal stories and real-life lessons to turn something usually thought of as negative into something positive.  We share how our experiences shaped us in ways we didn't always realize, especially when we started building families of our own.

We hope you enjoy and are able to relate to this topic. Thanks for tuning in!

  • Episode 1 - The Origin Story

We're the TX Irish Twins, Becki and Deana, born and raised in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and only ten months apart. Our show is all about exploring life, resilience, and discovering your place in the world.

In today's episode, we share our core values by briefly highlighting family traditions, principles, and our passions. We talk about how our values have roots. We talk through how our past experiences have shaped who we are today, and we share some funny stories from our childhood.

Don't forget to check out the wine (Enchante) we shared with you from William Chris Wineries in Hye, Texas. In fact, we suggest you give it a try or visit the winery yourself!
