This week Dan Whitaker joins us around the 30min mark to talk about his brand new album "I Won't Play By Your Rules", the release party at Sagebrush and a lot more. He plays four songs off the album including "Honky Tonk Waltz", "Ky Laffoon's Last Stand", "Rainy Nights in the Day" and the cheating song "Switching from Booze to Beer". Gene Reeves joins us around the 1:39min mark to talk a little about the Canyon Lake area musicians and his recent singles. We spin the newest release "I'm Coming Back to Town" and Gene plays "Barely Hanging On", as well as the upcoming songs "Sunday Morning Drive", "Welcome tho the Chicken Shack", and a song about jumping trains. Houston Horni Tonk Society's very own South Texas Tweek and Christopher Seymore join us in studio to talk about Seymore's brand new single "Escape To Huntsville" and Tweek's upcoming full album. Christopher plays two unreleased songs live "Little Things" and "Upstate" and South Texas Tweek plays one from the upcoming record "Hair of the Dog" and a brand new song "Weather Man". We are also joined in studio by a surprise guest, take our very first "call in" from a listener and close friend, and shoot the breeze.

This week Clayton Smith from The Rye Boys and The Band Laredo joins me for a special Thursday episode we're branding as TXRYEverTonk. Clayton takes over the playlist to bring you some fantastic old school jams along with a batch of great songs from his friends, many of which he had a hand in creating. During the second half of the show we dig into the various projects Clayton's working on and he plays four songs live including "Dreams" from his solo album Stranger, released under the banner Clayton Smith and His Enemies. He also plays his newest single "Year After Year", a version of an upcoming release "Bluer Skies" and the as of yet unrecorded "Stare at the Wall". Enjoy!

This week Brent and Josh of The Broken Spokes stop by the studio to talk about the Houston Music Scene, winning "Western Swing Band of the Year" from the Texas Country Music Awards, and upcoming shows. They play an acoustic version of the brand new single "Moved Into A Bottle" as well as "Honky Tonk Song" and "All I Hear You Say" off their fantastic 2022 album titled Where I Went Wrong.

This week we have a special Wednesday bonus episode with Sasquatch Slim before he heads to Riley's Tavern to record an episode of Down in a Dive. Since it's been almost a year since Slim was in studio, we catch up on what's been happening, talk a little about Guy Clark's ashes and Slim's Sunday Morning Coming Down sessions. Sasquatch Slim plays three original, unreleased songs live including "Love You More", "Dance Hall Queen" and the emotional finale "December the Seventh". We also spin "11 Months and 29 Days" and "Pop's Song" off of his first album Can't You See, released under his given name David Smith. We also talk about what's on the road ahead for Sasquatch Slim.
