This week we're ramping up for the WayHigh Party with Wild Fitz of the WayHighMen and Jimmy Wildcat of The Bad Lovers. Jimmy runs Sweetheart Studios in Elgin, TX and just released The Bad Lovers new album It's Only Natural. Jimmy plays three songs live on air including "Stormy Eyes" from the album as well as the unreleased "Everyday's a Rainy Day" and "Eerie Halls of My Mind". Fitz also treats us to three originals "Hard Working Girls" and "Starlight Theater" (recorded by Colton Cerny), then closes it out with "She Laid the Hurt On Me." This week Micah Hill of Burrito Seagull and Chasen Wayne of Honky Tonk Machine & The Way Highmen join us in studio to talk about all the projects they are working on. Chasen plays the unreleased, frozen caveman themed "Put Her on Ice" and "Window Time" both of which should be on the upcoming album. Micah plays "I'm Sorry You Feel That Way" and the talkin blues song "Living At the Palms." These guys are a damn hoot, so check out their music and get out to see them live with one of the many bands they are playing with!

This week Derrick McLendon joins us in studio almost a month since we first met to talk about all we've been through since then, including the release of his album Interstate Daydreamer. Derrick plays five unrecorded songs live including his wife's current favorite "I'm Sorry Momma", a nod to Central Texas homies around "Austin" and "She" the tribute song to Memaw. Derrick then plays a special version of "No Motorcycles and No Tattoos" written for and performed in front of my mom who provides her own gift in return. We wrap up the show with the funky banger "No Hope Ranch" which Derrick teases as the likely title track of a future album who's details are yet to be determined. This week's guest Aaron McDonnell can often be found burning down White Horse, swapping songs out at Poodie's or making em dance at Hondo's. He sits down with us to talk about his band the Neon Eagles and his recent full length record Too Many Days Like Saturday Night. We spin the studio version of "The Dawn" before Aaron plays "Tell the Devil" off the same album. McDonnell follows that up with the unreleased, likely title track from his upcoming EP "Slow Luck" expected out this spring. Then he closes out the show with one of my favorites, "Lucky Me".
