Paul metaphorically describes his ministry and suffering as a treasure in jars of clay to magnify the power of God, which sustained his life and ministry. Also, for him, the future glory that outshines his present affliction through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Paul challenges the Corinth to set their life to the new hope and new perspective found in Christ and be willing to suffer for His sake and so experience His power and glory.
