今天，我們要來看一個很熟悉的聖經故事，是男女老少都很喜愛的聖經記載：即是大衛與歌利亞的故事。許多人所看到的是一位居下風的人 (underdog) 反敗為勝的故事。但實際上，這是記載一位依靠上帝的人，用信心而經歷到上帝帶領他勝過看似不可能勝過的歌利亞。同樣我們也可以依靠上帝來面對我們生命中的「歌利亞」。

到底大卫的生命中有些什么特质，是上帝特别欣赏的呢？上帝看见大卫一些什么长处，以致上帝喜悦他呢？上帝说大卫是合祂心意的人，那么大卫有什么吸引上帝的地方，有什么特点让上帝对他有这样的描述呢？事实上，我们读大卫的生平，我们看见大卫的生命，也有不少的瑕疪和缺点，他曾经犯罪得罪上帝，而且所犯的是大罪，他叛逆上帝，做了上帝所禁止的事。然而，上帝好像忘记了大卫的缺点，只看见他的优点，因而称他为“合上帝心意的人”。是否大卫的优点盖过了他的缺点，以致上帝可以完全接纳大卫，不计较他曾经犯过的错呢？

Life, whether you are a believer or not is full of choices.  Every single day we face many situations where we need to make a choice.  But what is your basis when making a choice or a decision?  Are you making a decision base on familiarity or are you making a decision base on what you feel is right? Or perhaps your decision is based on what the majority says is their preference?

As a believer, one thing that makes us different from other people is that you and I were sealed by the Holy Spirit the moment you and I accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior.

You and I have something more than conscience. We have the Holy Spirit, who is acknowledged as the Counselor, the Guide.  Yes, we are free to make choices, but rather than being free just to make choices or what we prefer, why not make choices based on what is right that comes from the guidance of the Holy Spirit?

Our message today, challenges you and me in this time of uncertainty and pandemic to look back and check ourselves on how we make decisions in life.  And the best decision always comes from the will of God.

Being aligned with the will of God is the BEST. As the Scripture says, the will of God is good, acceptable and perfect.  Let us seek the Lord while he can still be found.  The best is yet to come in our lives when we start to learn how to choose according to the will of God.
