Our God never breaks His promises. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength…” Another one can be found in Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We can trust God’s promises whatever our circumstance. Continue to trust Him as we see the end of this difficult year and start 2021 with gratitude to God in our hearts. #LightOfHope

When Christ was born, a new star rose and pointed the way to Him. Wise men from the East, who were astronomers – whether by profession or as a hobby – saw this new star and realized it was a special star. It wasn’t part of any pattern that they have observed. Their ancient texts might have referred to this star as the symbol of one who will be born king of the Jews. They decided to see this king, this #LightOfHope of the Jews. These wise men prepared for a long journey and traveled until they reached Jerusalem. Listen to Rev. William Jonathan Ong as he tells us what happened next.

如果说创世记叙述了世界和以色列民族的起源，那么出埃及记就叙述了以色列民族的得救与耶和华立下圣约做圣洁国民的过程。

第四十章提到当耶和华的帐幕立起之时，耶和华的荣耀充满了帐幕。这是体现出上帝的荣美和威严，而神荣耀的同在是给人最大的恩典。耶和华的荣耀充满帐幕作为出埃及记的结尾所带出的是一段新的信心旅程。在这段旅程中，人要如何敬拜上帝与神同行呢？出埃及记就起到了承上启下的作用，上承神的创造、下启神的计划。

出埃及記這本書記載以色列人蒙上帝拯救，脫離為奴之家，在曠野的旅途中，上帝為著要他們成為天國的子民，祭司的國度，就賜給他們律法訓練，塑造他們。百姓卻鑄了金牛犢來代替上帝，惹上帝的憤怒。摩西的代求帶來上帝的赦免與帶領。

在今天我们要学习的经文里面，我们发现，以色列人背离了神，把原来他们在神面前誓言完全忘记。看到以色列人这样的光景，我们来看一看自己，是不是也可能像以色列一样，再一次背离神呢？我想，如果我们不警醒，我们也会想以色列人一样，虽然我们生活在上帝的恩典里面，如果不警醒的话也会跌倒。我们今天一起来看以色列人的跌倒，或许我们可以从他们身上看到我们自己的影子。愿今天的经文能够提醒我们，让我们不要走以色列人的老路。
