One of the negative reactions of government disclosure that there's an extraterrestrial presence on Earth is that leaders of fundamental religious groups will claim it's not real and the work of Satan. Also, a retired electrical engineer who worked for defense contractors and federal agencies like NASA and the CIA offered a pessimistic opinion on what might happen should Congress attempt to disclose the truth about the alien presence on Earth.
