  • Rollin' With Hutson: Cigars & More

He's a renaissance man in many senses of the word: a tobacconist, a man with a Master's Degree in Biology and traveler of this world. Meet Christian Hutson, who along with his wife, owns and operates Just For Him here in Springfield, Mo. Over a super-informative hour, I learned I had much more in common with this gregarious and heartwarming man than I already thought. Enjoy an hour with Christian and in the last half, my good friend Max Bullock!

  • Punk Rock & Women...A Conversation With Johnny O.

He's a Navy veteran of the SWCC community who's hopped freight trains to chase whatever's driving his spirit; a self taught auto mechanic and electrician with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Comparative Literature who once stole a Ferrari from his father and spent some time in jail for it. Meet Johnny Ochetti, one of THE most interesting souls I've had the pleasure of hanging with. Over some smoked ribs and Coors Light, we began telling tales, some of which are here for your enjoyment. In his own words....."when you're done learning you're dead". Cheers Johnny, and cheers to you, listener!

  • Tornadoes, Tunes & Ted...A Conversation With Mr. Ted Keller

Ted Keller is a well-known entity in the 417, having been a meteorologist on local television station KOLR-10 for many years starting in 1986. But you might not know that Ted is not only a passionate homebrewer but just one of the nicest people I've ever met, so it was a real treat to spend an hour with him talking tornadoes, his love for jazz music and enjoying his saison beer.

  • Behind The Beer With Lear Goes To Texas

For this latest installment of "Behind The Beer With Lear", he brought some delicious suds from two Austin, Texas breweries: Thirsty Planet and Circle Brewing. We also sampled a beer from Divine Barrel Brewing out of Charlotte, North Carolina. In between we discuss the source of imitation vanilla flavoring, the value of naps and some unsolicited advice on how to train your cat. Tune in for a fun & boozy hour with my good friend Ryan

  • The Legend Of The Stepchild's Daddy.....A Conversation With Chad Bechtel

What I anticipated to be a conversation with my favorite bartender at my favorite dive bar about, well, dive bars, his relationships and his musical experiences QUICKLY turned into a show mostly about cooking! I had NO idea about the experiences of Chad Bechtel's path to today which included playing Halo with John Mayer, being the head chef at some fine dining establishments and his not-so-secret love of Fireball Whisky. Tune into one of my most interesting guests as we get to know each other from the other side of the bar. Cheers!

  • Platform Agnostic.....A Conversation With Katie Mooneyham

She's back and better than ever! Katie joins the show to offer up her skills as a numbers person, and we wax idiotic about all kinds of things from politics to a perfume line called "Blissful Ignorance" that I think she should launch. We always have fun and this show is no exception; unfortunately, again, Christopher Walken impressions DO come into play. So tune in and enjoy!

  • Back In My Own Saddle

It's been quite a few moons since I posted a podcast, and there's a few decent reasons why. Tune in to a 20min. show where we talk, just you and me.

  • Behind The Beers With Dylan & Lear Mar. 2021

The title says it all.....we're back with another round of Behind The Beer. Today we sample 5 beers....Burial Brewing Co.'s "Savages Of Ruminating Minds" IPA and Sycamore Brewing's "Tropical Kush", both out of North Carolina, two offerings from Urban Chestnut, "Fantasy Land" Midwest coast IPA and "Urban Underdog" American Lager as well as Brooklyn Brewery's "Bel Air Sour". Even better than the beer? We get to hear Ryan's badass cover of The Beatles "Golden Slumber" at 29:34 in. Make sure you enjoy this boozy romp across several great suds.

    Cheers!

  • The Music Fantasticular 2021!

Over the last few years, I've been so very fortunate to have some very talented local musicians take some time to be on the show, and today we showcase their talents. Some were kind (or naive) enough to let me sit in, all were kind enough to take time to talk about their craft and I cannot thank them enough. In this time, more than ever, we need to support artists out there offering creative output for our souls' edification. Enjoy five local troubadours who took the time to take some time.......Dallas Jones, Molly Healey, Brandon Moore, Nate White and Steve Ames. Please support them, and ALL your local musical talent should you get the chance. Enjoy!
