Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 62: A TARDIS Full of Bras (Sweet Gender Flips)

About 18 months ago, Erin didn’t like the idea of a female Doctor, despite being generally pro-badass-female-characters. Well, we have a new Doctor incoming, and she’s got boobs. We unpack some of the implications of this, for ourselves as fans as well as on the whole, and also take a deeper look at the relationships between past Doctors and their companions and how  having a female Doctor might solve some of the problems we’ve seen in the past (and what new problems could now have an opportunity to arise).

Also, we talk about some other gender flips (“oh shit, sweet flips”) in mainstream media, how they have worked, and whether they have worked.

Also also, sorry-not-sorry for getting that song stuck in your head. Erin’s been singing it for three days now.

Hey, everyone! This week, we check out the website Sorting Hat Chats and take a really deep and serious look at who we are and what that says about which Hogwarts house we would end up in (spoiler: one of us is not who we all thought he was!). Erin says “deep dive” a lot. Like, so many times that listening back through this to edit it, she just really wants to go stab Past Erin in the neck.

Also, and this is very important: we shout-out Adam from So That’s How It Ends, but Erin is an idiot and gets the name of his podcast wrong. We’ll fix that next week in NCCs, but wanted to fix it here too. Sorry, Adam. Erin is an idiot.
