Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 71: James and Erin Write a Movie (“The Callipygian Consultant 2: Judgment Day”)

Hey, everyone! We wrote another movie!

Christopher Meloni stars as Mikey Butts, Butt Judge; Derek gets a last name and is still totally doing it; Anna Kendrick gets annoyed; Joan Cusack gets a new butt; James gets a lesson in Spanx.

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 70: Hi, Chad! (“IT”: The Movie: The Second Adaptation of the Book by Stephen King)

Hey, everyone! This week, our good buddy and friend of the show Chad (hi, Chad!) joins us to discuss last week’s first-ever UFO Meetup and the movie we saw for it, “IT”: The Movie: The Second Adaptation of the Book by Stephen King. (Incidentally, happy birthday to said Mr. King, who turned 70 today, Thursday, September 21, which is the day I am writing this because I am ahead of the game.)

Spoilers abound in this one for the movie, and there is a point at which we tell you if you don’t want a spoiler for the book/the second part of the movie (which will be released in like a million years), to skip ahead 30 seconds. It’s really more like 15 seconds. For once, we OVERestimated how long we would talk about a thing instead of underestimating by about 43 minutes.

Thank you to Jamie Chahine for our theme song, “Did You Guys Know There Was A Ladder Down Here?” and to Emily Kardamis (@corruptedgem) for our cover art. You can now find more of Jamie’s music on his band’s YouTube channel!

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 69: Nice. (MBMBaM Live Show)

Hey, everyone! Last weekend we went into DC to see a live My Brother, My Brother, and Me show. This week, we’re here to tell you how great it was, and to discuss what a live UFO show would look like. This week, the F secretly stands for “frantically diving under a table to avoid a scary clown monster.”

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 68.5: I Am A Horse (James & Erin Write a Class/Outtakes Volume 5)

Hey, everyone! This week we had a plan for an episode, but decided in the end that we couldn’t make a full episode out of it, and also we really wanted next week’s episode to be number 69 (nice), so we decided to do a brief segment on the topic we were going to cover tonight, add in some outtakes, listen to Erin giggle like a maniac for about 4 full minutes, and call it a half-episode.

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 68: It’s a Glass Case of Emotion, Not an Outhouse (Childhood Books)

Hey, everyone! This week we travel back in time to our own childhoods, where we reminisce about the books that made us who we are today, as well as some real stupid books that we loved anyway (I’m looking at you, Christopher Pike). James was really into survival books, and Erin commits to a bit.

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 67: The Movie: The Adaptation of The Book (“The Dark Tower”)

Hey, everyone! We saw a movie! It’s a movie that apparently none of the critics liked, but we went to see it anyway, because Stephen King. Did we like it? You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out! (But you can probably guess.) (But then you’ll have to listen to the episode to find out if you were right.)

Episode 66: *Sigh* Peter. (“The Bachelorette”)

Hey, everyone! We’ve had quite a few weeks of poor James having to watch things that Erin thoroughly enjoys and he tolerates watching because he is a very good friend and he loves this podcast. This week, he took one for the team and watched the last four episodes of the most recent season of “The Bachelorette” and…didn’t hate it. But only because Peter is the best.

Let me repeat (rePete) (heh) that: PETER. IS. THE. BEST.

Ahem.

Episode 65: Hi, Allie and Adam! (“American Psycho 2: All American Girl”)

Hey, everyone! This week we sat down with Allie and Adam from So That’s How It Ends to watch American Psycho 2: All American Girl (which was a CINEMATIC MASTERPIECE and EVERYONE should go watch it immediately) and completely steal their format!

Episode 64: James’s Unpopular Opinion Corner (“Fifty Shades of Grey”)

Hey, everyone! James watched a movie, and Erin has also seen the movie, so we wanted to talk about the movie! We also discuss potential UFO-themed Halloween costumes, and neither one of us can BELIEVE we forgot Derek and his oil and his gold Speedo and his “doing it”. (Heh. Doing it. There’s a lot of that in the movie James watched, amirite?)

Unabashedly Obsessed Episode 63: Impotential Liking (Q&A)

Hey, everyone! You ever have one of those weeks where you and your cohost both go out of town for a weekend and then have to bump recording up a day because you have houseguests the rest of the week, so you don’t have time to consume any pop (or not-so-pop) culture to prep for your podcast? No? Just us? Well, that’s fine. All those things DID happen to us this week, so instead of discussing a new obsession one of us has, we decided to talk about the thing we have both been obsessed with for a long, long time: ourselves! Thanks to the members of the Unabashedly Obsessed with Unabashedly Obsessed Facebook group for helping us out on this one!
