After a 5 month break, the guys are back in the studio talking all things Faith Recovery.

Josh, Drew & Palmer sit down and talk about Principle 4, Openly Examine and Confess my hurts, hang-ups and habits to myself, to God, and to someone I trust.

For a successful recovery, we must come to a place where we can honestly examine ourself, our hurts, our hang ups and our habits.

We cant start the process of healing if we wont acknowledge we need healing.

Grady walks us through his story that starts off with a childhood living the 'American Dream' that came to a screeching halt at 10 years old when his father commited suicide. From there, Grady went down a downward spiral in his teenage years trying to numb the pain.

Trauma is no stranger in this story but so is miraculous Grace of Answered Prayers.

On this episode, Josh & Drew sit down with guest Amy Frank to hear another powerful story of redemption.

Amy takes us back to her childhood where her story starts in "complete blindness". Amy grew up in an abusive home in Texas and came to Mississippi with her mother and siblings to get away. Because of the abuse, Amy lived a isolated childhood. Even as a kid, Amy found herself in a care taker role, not experiencing a typical childhood.

As a rebelous 16 year old with a baby, Amy found herself abandoned by her family in a time that she desperately needed them the most. Living 4 hours from her home, she found herself rejected by those she had knew all her life, and feeling completely lost a feeling that would follow her for years to come.

Years later Amy found herself alone yet again after a rough breakup. It was there that she was introduced to crack cocaine for the first time and was instantly hooked on the numbing effect of that high.

Amy spent the next few years running and chasing that high that made her forget being lost. That running eventually caught up with Amy and that's where she had her "But God" moment in a Rankin County Courtroom. A single moment that changed Amy's life from being lost to being found.

Has the consequences of a choice you made in the past finally caught up with you?

There is a old saying in the rooms of recovery, "You are free to make your own choice, but you are not free of the consequences of that choice."

On this episode of Unashamed Recovery, Josh, Drew, & Palmer talk about a common topic that involves us all....CONSEQUENCES.

We will all make bad choices, some more than others. Regardless, we will all make bad choices in life. Sometimes the payment for those choices comes instantly and other times there is a delay; but rest assured the bill always comes.

Colossians 3:25 confirms this. "..he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality."

For some of us, we made a bad choice and that choice is what catapulted us into recovery. It only seems right that us accepting a new life in recovery would absolve us from any guilt or of any consequences from what we had done in our old life.

That is just not the case. In this episode we will hear of someone going through this exact situation. The guys break down how we should press on and continue in our sobriety and recovery even though the bill has come due.

Let's look at this scripture through the lense of recovery, especially in the aspect of our past.

The ruins may be our past, but the rebuilding happens in the present, surrounded by those who uplift us.

And as we talk about rebuilding, it's essential to address the potential setbacks and challenges. Have you faced obstacles in your recovery journey, and how did faith contribute to overcoming them?

There have been moments where it felt like the ruins were too extensive. But that's where faith steps in – it's the anchor that holds us steady. Believing in the promise of rebuilding, even in the face of setbacks, fuels the resilience needed for recovery.
