Using the Gifts God Gave Me

From third grade Leonard Edloe wanted to be a pharmacist like his father. In this episode he talked about his uncle, who also inspired him from an early age. From them and other influencers he learned the importance of pouring into others, young pharmacists, and ministers. He shared some of his career challenges trying to affiliate with conservative pharmacy associations. Dr. Edloe accepted challenges though things were intimidating. With each challenge, he believes God had a purpose. Look at the broad picture, use challenges as learning experiences, and grow to help other people. He openly shared how he became the published author of “Restoring the Glory: Breathing New Life into the Rural Black Church.”  

Dr. Leonard Edloe is a pharmacist, pastor, educator, and author. He is the Pastor of New Hope Fellowship and is a nationally recognized pharmacist. Upon graduating from the Howard University College of Pharmacy, Dr. Edloe joined his father at their small family-owned pharmacy in Richmond, He is the recipient of numerous awards from several pharmacy associations and is a Fellow of the American and the National Pharmacists Associations. He is the Past President of the Virginia Pharmacy Association and presently serves as a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy as well as an Adjunct Professor of Christian Ethics at the Leland Seminary School of Ministry.

Dr. Edloe is a regular contributor to the Pastor’s Column of the Southside Sentinel. Dr. Edloe has made contributions to the health of the Greater Richmond Community and now devotes his life to full-time ministry. Would you believe that Dr. Edloe preached his first sermon at the age of 17?

Joseph Johnson is the founder of a movement called Vision Transition. He is an author, speaker, and HVAC authority. Joseph teaches people in the community the HVAC trade using his book “HVAC Guide,” online HVAC e-course, as well as in-person training.

She struggled to hold childhood passions because there was a lot of trauma, anger, and shame. Nanci says that her box was anger that formed as a six-year-old and it began to define who she was. However, she now views her role as walking beside broken people, discipling them, and helping them realize God wants to set them free. A mentor helped her identify her anger, past relationships, and gentle forgiveness. She gives truths about their identities to use the word of God to walk in heart healing.

Nanci is a Christian Minister, Chaplain, speaker, and author. She helps others exchange lies for truth, bondage for freedom, and anger for joy. Nanci Lamborn knows all too well the pain of childhood trauma and dysfunction. Since her life-changing experience with heart healing prayer in her mid-forties, she has committed her life full time to leading others into the same level of freedom she enjoys today. Since 2016 Nanci has worked with well over two thousand clients using Biblically-based healing prayer methods. As an ordained Minister and licensed Chaplain, she guides hurting people through a deep exploration of the past and into the supernatural process of exchanging lies for truth and bondage for freedom with Jesus. Born and raised mostly in the Deep South, Nanci and her husband Rick now reside in Georgia with their dogs and backyard chickens. They are also loving parents and immensely proud grandparents. Early in life he became passionate about tennis, which helped him to become an entrepreneur at about 12 years old. At that time, he also realized he had a passion for coaching, seeing people’s eyes light up, improve, and grow. In terms of God, ourselves, and others, our why comes from God. Our identity is in Christ. He very succinctly talked about a time when he went through a “business divorce” by walking away, he stepped out of that box with inner resilience.

Kevin W. McCarthy is a former radio talk show host who thrives on free-flowing conversation. Kevin McCarthy is the creator of the website NPURPOSE.me where in minutes you can discover your life purpose is just 2 words. I subscribed and found my two-word purpose is setting free. He is a man on a mission to eradicate meaningless from the planet one person at a time. In other words, he wants to help you know your purpose in life. Pastor Purpose described a time when he had certainty in uncertainty because God let him use his psychological mind to keep helping people. Purposefully align yourself with people who accept the whole version of who you are rather than try to fit in with others to become what they want.  

Rev. Lamont Edwards AKA "Pastor Purpose" is a Virginia resident. He is passionate about higher education and preparing our children for the future. Some of his ministry gifts include creative arts ministries, such as spoken word and organizing open mic events and teaching hip-hop dance to young people. This includes helping them to explore their own creativity, as God has given it to them. He holds several leadership positions which involve curriculum development and the mobilization of youth achievement. He also founded the organization P.O.E.T., which is a creative arts ministry that stands for People Oughta Express Themselves. "Pastor Purpose" has most recently began working on the birth of a wellness education ministry. He plans to empower the community with a focus on the minds of American youth and future leaders. He is a preacher and teacher.
