- UV Podcast 057 – Barbara BoeingBarbara Boeing from Curitiba in the south of Brazil caught our ear last summer at Palais Palett here in Dresden where she played a short notice gig during her holidays in Europe. Her set perfectly set the vibe for a great summer night out there at our favourite wooden dancefloor of the city. Some months later, we asked Barbara for a contribution to our podcast series and she sent us a colourful mix of House, Disco and beyond that brings back those summer feelings, much needed during those grey winter days (at least here in Germany). Hi Barbara, how are you? Did you have a good start into the new Year? I am good, thanks! Yes, I went to a beach called Algodões, in Bahia (north east of Brazil) for NYE to play for Xama Festival. For me, Xama is one of the best festivals in Brazil and it is composed only by Brazilian DJs. I can definitely say it was a good way to start 2019! Thanks for contributing this excellent mix! What’s the idea behind it? When and how was it recorded? This mix was recorded in my house. I was happy I could use some new vinyls […]0 min

- UV Podcast 055 – Peter InvasionCould you please introduce yourself to our listeners? Hi, my name is Markus Krasselt aka Peter Invasion. I’m the owner of the Leipzig-based record label Riotvan. What is the Riotvan-identity about? The identity is our love to music (of course) and the passion to make life a little better. Everything is going to be fine. 4 sure! And if not, we’ve made the world a better place for a few moments at least. That’s it! What is your vision with the label? See above! Haha. The vision is to bring people together. The story isn’t new, but that’s why I’m doing this every day. It’s fun to push things forward, meet new friends and to do what I like. It’s a big honor to see if people like it too. At the end of the day we are working with a small number of friends. This idea of a tight-knit community at the heart of the label is very important for me. Who else is supporting you in your Riotvan service station? Well, there are so many hands helping to give this baby a face and to keep it alive. Without a single one of these hands, it would not work. […]0 min

Starting as a label that served basically as a platform for their friends’ music in 2010, Uncanny Valley evolved into a record label that assembles acclaimed artists from the electronic music scene not only from the label’s base in Dresden but also from Germany and beyond. With a strong emphasis on the records’ artwork the label heads Philipp Demankowski, Conrad Kaden and Carl-Johannes Schulze are constantly on a mission to establish and refine the artists from the roster as well as to search for new talents. Artists as Jacob Korn, Cuthead, Credit 00, Massimiliano Pagliara, CVBox or Panthera Krause all feel at home on the label, giving them the chance to develop projects that are not only music related but can also integrate different art forms. With the two offshoots Rat Life and shtum under its belt, Uncanny Valley does not stand still to explore the full spectrum of electronic and not so electronic music from House via Disco, Hip-Hop or Ambient through to Techno. A range that can also be depicted when the three label heads come together for a DJ set as Uncanny Valley DJs.
