Hi, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? Hello, my name is Sneaker. I’m into Chicago, Italo and Synth music. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it? Beyond my new EP which showcases the funky Italo-Wave-Pop side of my soul I wanted to hop back to the dirt I’m known for. The majority of the mix is exclusive shit from the wealth of Dresden producers, 2 other German underground mates and the ominous Colombian. The remaining bangers are Chicago-styled tracks or exclusive edits of New Wave classics. It’s not a DJ-mix – it’s a studio mix with up to 4 tracks playing at the same time; vocals and samples thrown into deliberately. It’s the vision and revision of  my friends and my music – archaic, percussive, slammin’ music. This mix is really born from my social background and the minds of people I respect honestly. For those of you who don’t know: Conny Plank was a German record producer, musician, audio engineerer and secret member of many of those so-called Krautrock Bands until he died way too early in 1987. One of his early friends and collaborators was Hans-Joachim Roedelius, long-time member of Cluster and Harmonia and now – even at the age of 78 – hyperactive with both his solo work and in various collabos like Qluster or his recent project with Lloyd Cole. When Roedelius was in Dresden to play his live set at a special Conny Plank tribute night at Altes Wettbuero, Philipp had the opportunity to talk to him about his relationship to Conny and his work in general.

Before that, the Leipzig based DJ and promoter esclé (who was hosting the Conny Plank tribute show with some friends) played a great DJ set with Conny Plank related songs. In fact, every record he played is from Conny Plank’s very own record collection. His son was so kind to lend esclé the records for the whole tribute tour. Last but not least you can listen to a track from Credit 00 that he produced for his special Conny Plank live set. Credit could get his hands on a large collection of sample material out of Conny’s studio for those tracks. And boy, this live set was hot! But for now, enjoy the radio show!

Hi Marek, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? My name is Marek Edmund Stuczyński, better known as Eltron John. I live on the Vistula riverbank in Kraków and spend my time on an everlasting journey to the light. Meaning – I dance, sing, walk, talk and play. And do everything that goes with it. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?  It was recorded way past due (to all the UV crew I apologize). Hi Philipp, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? I’m Philipp and, yeah, I’m part of Uncanny Valley. I also run the radio show UV Funk on Dresden based community radio station coloRadio. When it comes to DJing I’m a multiple personality. I can’t really commit myself to a certain genre. From Soft Rock and Afro to House and UK Funky – there’s good music everywhere. When I’m playing with Conrad as The Moroders, we are playing a lot of Disco, Italo and stuff. But also House and Techno, if the audience is up for it. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?  When I’m recording a mix I tend to do it very painstakingly. Although I’ve wanted to make a straightforward club mix for a long time now, I ended up doing a pretty versatile mix again. So, there’s a nice Soft Rock and Slow Funk vibe in the beginning. And at the second half things get a little darker but also more danceable. There’s a lot of rather old music in the mix. Hope you’ll find something to discover.
