  • UV Podcast 019 – Albrecht Wassersleben
Hello, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? Hello, my name ist Albrecht. Besides my mates Carl, Conrad & Philipp I am one of the founders of Uncanny Valley. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it? I’m going to play at a small festival in Bulgaria called Meadows in the Mountains and I’ll continue traveling with a friend to Istanbul and Georgia for a couple of weeks. Imagining the whole trip I was searching for some songs that could soundtrack the whole journey. Thinking about sitting on top of the hills near Sofia, riding the Orient Express over the Bosporus, walking the beaches of the Black Sea and wandering through the Caucasus. That’s why I chose no dance floor music and made it like a mix tape you can put on your ears while riding your bike to the lake. How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time? I’m deejaying for more then 10 years now. I started with friends playing Indie music at private parties, bars or after concerts at the local youth centre. When you busy yourself with music a lot it’s great to have a […]

  • UV Funk 020: Tempo 80 Special
When Philipp played on the infamous Tempo 80 party in Dresden earlier this year he selected way too many records to play only for one night. It would have been a pity to just put them back into the shelf niches. So he decided to mix some of them up for the next UV Funk show. So here it is: this is a mix full of cocaine flavoured tunes, special freak and disco versions, nuclear paranoia, hooligan shouts and rattling snares. No, Cold, Minimal, Synth Wave and everything inbetween. You name it!
    Suicide Dada - Acque [Mannequin]
Eric Random - 23 Skidoo [Soul Jazz]
Nina Hagen - Cosma Shiva [Columbia]
Shock - Angel Face [Crème Organization]
Opium Monks - Secrets Of Africa [Metronome]

  • UV Funk 019: Beyond Plastic Special
It's no secret that we love vinyl here at Uncanny Valley. So we didn't have to think long when Alex Ketzer asked the label to take part in his Beyond Plastic project, a mixtape in book format about artists and vinyl labels that press music on “black gold”. And there will be a CD with music from these labels that will be included with the book. Alex spent more than one year on the road to visit his favourite labels and “vinyl instititutions” in their everyday surroundings. Besides Uncanny valley the book includes interviews and articles of 60Hertz, Smallville, Liebe*Detail, Pingipung, Acker Records, Decks.de, De:Bug, Giegling, Brothers in Love, Dubplates & Mastering, Aim Vinyl, Fauxpas Musik, Oye Records, Ortloff, Kann, Rand Muzik, Freude am Tanzen and Workshop. Of course there is a 12-Inch compilation that will be released in addition to the book project. Among the artists is our very own Sandrow M. Check the project's site and the facebook-page to get updates.
You can order the book and give a listen to the CD over here: http://www.bpl.io/
We kindly recommend to do that .
For UV Funk Philipp and Gunnar talked about the project to Alex via telephone. On top he contributed a great mix for the show. He included only tracks that are typical examples for the particular label’s sound.

  • UV Podcast 018 – RVDS
Hello, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? My name is RVDS (Richard von der Schulenburg). Since 2005 I’m a resident at Golden Pudel Club Hamburg. 2008 I founded the label “it’s” and since 2010 I headed on my own. Besides I made releases for Terpsiton, Laid, Smallville Records. By DJ Elin I met Uncanny Valley after a party at “Kleines Wettbüro” – I love UV’s switching through genres in club music, which I’m used to at the Pudel Club. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it? The mix was recorded at home with vinyls, incl. all mixing mistakes. It’s a real mix through different moods and genres, which is familiar to Uncanny Valley. In the mix you can listen to the great collaboration I did with one of my Chicago House heroes Mr. K’Alexi Shelby. How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time? I’m deejaying my whole life — well not really, but I played 1988 at a school party the first time and since 1995 i’m playing records in Hamburg bars, since 2005 i’m playing mostly club music, means I started mixing records. The Pudel Club […]

  • UV Podcast 017 – Lounge 44
Hi Michael, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners? Hey, my name is Michael Fischer but most people know me as Mille. I am living and working in Berlin/Neuköln. Under the moniker Mille & Hirsch I’m releasing music together with Peter Hirsch since early the 2000’s. Together with my brother I’m running a music imprint called Apollo Krieg and Super Stupid Bros. I’m deeply connected to Leipzig an it’s scene and I’m sharing some friends with UV for example Blackred, Spacedisco, DJ Filburt or the whole R.A.N.D. surrounding. How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it? Two turntables, a mixer and my soundcard. (vinyl only) Clubbig! not too much old stuff. Including Promo copies that I got from my distributor. Big thanks to Diamonds & Pearls Berlin. I was happy to include my latest track which is going to be release on the forthcoming UV020.2 compilation. How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time? I started at an off spot underground location called “Zündspule” in Leipzig in the early 90’s. Some of the older generations should still know it. Everybody went there, everything that was cool had been played […]
