On this week's episode Josh & Mike discuss the "subtitle episodes" of the "new" Unsolved Mysteries episodes on Netflix. The first case is the first "ghost" episode on the "new" Unsolved Mysteries and Mike and Josh's opinions differ on that. The second case we cover is actually one of the better episodes off the first easons of the "new" UM on Netflix. Josh's biggest complaint is the subtitles but that might be because he never learned how to read that well. On this weeks episode we discuss the first two LACKLUSTER episodes on the second "season" (whatever they're calling it) of the new Netflix Unsolved Mysteries. From extended B-Roll footage, unnecessary interviews and lack of overall material, the new batch of episodes are about 20 minutes too long. There was a method to the original show's madness. There was a reason the original show was an anthology of several cases per 1-hour episode. It was a formula that worked very well. Sadly, however, in another attempt to fit the modern mold, the new Unsolved has missed the mark by attempting to re-make the show in the image of the played-out "docu-series" format. This is just our opinion though and if you look at all of our 1-star ratings on iTunes we're clearly not credible. Later on in the podcast Josh opens up about his teenage life in the "Perks of Being a Joshflower" diaries.

On this weeks episode we discuss the controversial Netflix Documentary "An American Murder: The Family Nextdoor" and a more generic title they could not have picked. However don't let the title fool you, this is one of the coldest and most brutal cases we've ever experienced. Shanann and Chris Watts were the most typical upper-middle class suburban family you could have ever known. In fact, Shanann fashioned herself as family vlogger with constant video posts and livestreams of her ideal family on her Facebook page. This is a murder doc for the modern age in the sense that so much of the documentary exists in the form of videos culled from cell phones, social media and police body cameras. This is truly reality TV but with a most sick and twisted end.
