Under Two Capes

This week, Jared discusses the Marvel characters with whom Superman would fall in love if he were a Marvel Character. He outlines characters such as Gamora, Storm, Thena, and many others. Jared also futhure outlines why Superman fits with Wonder Woman and why he would work with Emma From or Captain Marvel. Later, he outlines why Batgirl is a fantastic character in the Batman mythos and why she has endured as such a great character.

This is always such a fun thought experiment since it cultivates a deeper understanding of both companies' characters and their individual personalities. Additionally Batgirl stands as one of the greatest comic book characters of all time.

What do you think? Who would Superman work romance in the Marvel universe? Would Superman work with Storm? Why is Batgirl so great as a character? What is your favorite Barbara Gordon story? Is she better as Batgirl or Oracle?

This week, Jared and Teladia discuss the idea that there is no definitive versions of DC characters; there is only the version the fan prefers. They discuss why all versions of a character are valid, why demanding one's favorite iteration be reflected in every future version is unrealistic, and why having one's preferences does not invalidate another's preferences. They conclude by discussing Gotham Knights and comparing it to the Arkham series.

It is totally fine to have a favorite version of Batman, Superman, etc. But one must allow others to have their own preferred versions. Liking Ben Afleck as Batman does not invalidate one's love of Michael Keaton. The only rule is, liking one over the other does not make one any less of a DC fan.

What do you think? What is your favorite version of the DCU? Do you agree that all versions are valid? Who is the best Batman, Superman, etc?

This week, the boys discuss why Zack Snyder's Justice League worked while Josstice League ultimately failed. They discuss the plots, characterizations, and the background of the situation (i.e., Autumn Snyder, Walter Hamada, etc) to establish the framework for the discussion. They also discuss the inevitability of Zack Snyder's epic return to the DCU and what the story could look like.

Let's face it, no matter you're opinion of Zack Snyder's DC movies, the Snyder Cut was superior to the Whedon Cut. Even the ardent detractors of Snyder admit that point, so it's important to have this discussion.

What do you think? Is the Snyder Cut better than the Whedon Cut? Why did the Snyder Cut work while the Whedon Cut failed? If it were Joss' movie from the beginning, would it have been good?

Like, comment, and subscribe for more SnyderVerse analysis, panel discussions, comparisons, and news as we eagerly await Snyder's grand return to the DCU.

This week, Jared and Nick from the Phoenix Press discuss the SnyderVerse and why it is so hard for some fans to embrace the universe. They discuss why the SnyderVerse works, why some fans reject it needlessly, and why the universe is important to the DC Universe.

It is no secret that this is a pro-Snyder podcast, but we wanted to examine why there are those who despise the universe Snyder built. It's a very important discussion to understand the current twitter debate and to partake in a civil manner.

Email below your thoughts. Why is the SnyderVerse controversial? Is some of it deserved? Is it largely unjustified?

This video, Jared reacts to the recent revelations of the aftermath of Dark Crisis On Infinite Earths/  the apparent reboot of the DC Universe. He outlines the two types of reboot, which one is appropriate, how to properly execute the reboot, and why this reboot is necessary.

Let's face it, it's about time DC decided to reboot their continuity and return to the fundamentals of DC (e.g., no knockoff JL characters). The past few years, the continuity has been a confusing mess.

Email below what you want to see in the new continuity, what should stay, go, stay the same, etc.
