  • Condemning Mark Meadows As A Racist Should Also Require Self-Examination. I Did
It’s easy to jump all over Mark Meadows, the senator from North Carolina. He tried his best to defend Donald Trump as a non-racist.
But before you condemn Senator Meadows, look at yourself.  I did.
Hi, everyone.  John Daly here with a little informed not inflamed. Thanks for tuning in.
I actually think he was genuine -- while also being very partisan.
Here’s the rule he didn’t understand.
If you’re trying to explain away racism, then you most likely are a racist.
Here’s the reality in the United States.
If you are a white American, you are most likely racist -- in someway.
    Does that include me? Absolutely.
And I’ll give you an instance where I realized I had the typical American racism.
No I don’t use the N-word. And no I don’t ignore people of color. I have lived in neighborhoods with black and Hispanic neighbors.
    But listen to this.

  • Why This Weekly Magazine Should Be On Your List To Make You More Informed
Is there a weekly magazine you should have on your reading list?
Yes.  And I will tell you which one.
Hi, everyone. John daly here. With some more informed not inflamed.
I have another news finding tip for you. In a previous podcast we talked about setting up your Twitter news feed.
This is one of the publications that should be in in it.
It’s a weekly magazine called the Economist.
I have been reading this magazine since the early 1980s. I have no affiliate agreement with the Economist so you can rest assured I’m telling you this based on what I Believe.
If there is a weekly publication you must have, then this is it.
The economist covers a number of points of view.
They have a right leaning point of view towards business. But they also have a liberal social bias that you would see primarily in Western Europe.
There is also a libertarian Strain at various times that pushes for smaller and smarter government.
There’s a couple things I really enjoy about reading the Economist.
The first is they do offer opinions. But they do it the right way.  Not the cable news way.
They present the opinions by bringing out both sides equally and then telling you why they sided with one side or the other. Novel concept huh?
The second benefit is that they cover America from a strictly objective point of view. For the most part, they are not intertwined with one party or the other.
I feel when I read a report from the economist I’m getting a full picture of an issue.
The third benefit is if you get the Economist on your smart phone, each story can be listened to as an audio file. It’s great for working out, walking the dog, traveling long-distances.

  • Lawmakers Need to Be Certified So We Know They are Not Certifiable
So I have a great plan for 2020 election.
    But I need your help.
So here it is. Every candidate for president and for Congress has to take a certification test to make sure they know about government, the economy, entitlement programs, Foreign Affairs, and the military.
They would have to take this test and the results would have to be made public.
Why am I proposing this? Two reasons. The first is I just passed my insurance certification. It was not easy. It required a lot of study. It forced me to learn a lot of things that would make sure I would protect people looking for insurance or retirement products.
That got me thinking. How come I have to be tested and qualified to sell insurance. But lawmakers who could do a lot more damage don’t have to prove they’re qualified.
Doctors and lawyers have to do it. Even hairdressers and massage therapists have to do it.
Why not the most important positions in our country that could determine success or failure of our citizens?

  • Here Comes Socialistic Wound Collecting
What AOC -- might be getting right.
Many of you conservatives might not even get past this first line. But hear me out.
There’s a reason why so many people are paying attention to or attacking the new Democratic Congress woman from New York City – –
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — also known now as AOC.
She actually sees the future more clearly than many veteran lawmakers.
Sure she leans hard left: free college tuition; Medicare for all; — Both nice ideas in theory but not reality — raising tax rates on the rich; and a universal base income for all Americans.
If our minds are still stuck in the 1990s then this is horrifying.

  • Congress Clueless on Healthcare; Ignore Them and Look at This
The GOP wants to repeal and replace Obamacare by cutting and shifting costs to the states which could hurt the poor and those with pre-existing conditions.
The Democrats want Medicare for all as a step to a single-payer – which could never work for most Americans who want options. It would not bring costs down, nor would it improve our healthcare outcomes.
There is a solution: Liberty Health Share which is medical cost sharing.  The co-founder and executive director is Dale Bellis and he explains it perfectly.
Liberty Health Share is a community of members who share each other's medical bills.
We agree to certain principles about what medical expenses will be shared.
We reduce costs in a number of ways.
    First we are self-pay patients.
Second, we eliminate the middleman. Our monthly share amount goes directly to each other’s bills -- not to a bureaucracy or corporate entity. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Anyone can see our expenses and distributions at any time.
Third, we promote wellness and preventative medicine. We encourage our members to get an annual monthly wellness check-up. In fact, it is included when you pay your monthly share amount.
More than 130-thousand members in 3 years.  I am one of them.
No matter what happens in Congress you owe it to yourself to at least look at this for yourself and your family.  It is not insurance.  It is better.

  • Kelly Edge Gives Us a View of Battered But Not Broken Miami and South Beach
Miami and South Beach were devastated by Hurricane Irma.  How can all of us help even if we live outside the area or we just love to visit?

John Daly and his Undercover Jetsetter cohost Susan Anzalone speak with Kelly.

Let’s bring in our friend and contributor -- Kelly Edge.  She is a celebrity interior designer.  You’ve seen her on HGTV.  You also saw that she helped Undercover Jetsetter on our tour of Miami and South Beach.  And she plays in a lot of Celebrity-Golf events with me.

Kelly talks about how things are improving.  Most of the buildings, she says, survived without much damage.  the problem was the trees knocking out power lines.  And so far, the electricity is not back on.  Still, she thinks Miami and South Beach will be ready for tourists by the time winter tourist season begins.

We did this interview on Wednesday September 13.

She also filled us on on a great restaurant she took us to -- the restaurant in a gas station -- El Carajo International Tapas and Wine. It is still there serving wine and tapas, but because it is at a gas station so many folks are trying to fill up but can't because there is no gas.

We hope to get down there once South Beach Miami or back to show how people can support the area.

  • Great Golf Event on Premier Country Club Course
There’s a great golf event coming up in Columbia South Carolina at the Columbia Country Club.

It is the 2017 Children’s Chance Celebrity Golf Event.

    Website is www.childrenschancesc.org

It will be September 10th and 11th.

All the proceeds go to Children’s Chance, a charity that helps families with kids that have pediatric cancer and the devastating effects to the whole family sometimes.

A lot of my friends will be there – including my guest Thad Daber, professional golfer who has won the World one-club championship 4 times and holds the guiness world record.  But he gives a lot of time to charity events.

Eric analyses the good and the possible bad for Las Vegas as they get theri first NFL franchise, a team that has moved from Oakland and LA before.

Sure it will help the local economy.  But what happens after 5 years if the gambling town doesn't back the hometown Raiders?

Eric has insight into other things than football.  He is a part-owner of Montana Meat Company, one of the best sportsbars and eateries in Las Vegas.  He tends bars so he's got some jokes in addition to inside football info.

And in this interview with John and Susan, Eric takes a swipe at John's bartending abilities.  Pretty ballsy when you consider John is a graduate of Harvard ... Bartending School
