Lap 1 came to a stop when Kevin Magnussen and Sergio Perez collided causing a red flag. Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly also collided causing damage to Ocon’s car.

The big story of the day however, was Charles Leclerc taking his first win in him home town!

In today’s episode of the I Give An F1 Podcast, Allison and Lynnette discuss the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola!

They start off with a quick rundown of qualifying where Fernando Alonso qualified 19th, and Sergio Perez, also out of position, qualified 11th, while Max, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc rounded off the top 3.

Race day saw little action and overtakes until lap 53 when Lando Norris started to catch Max Verstappen, almost snatching the win. Max won in the end with a great drive and with a car that wasn’t exactly the best this weekend.

Lewis Hamilton caught a break after driving into Fernando Alonso on turn 1 with no penalty and moving up positions. Kevin Magnussen later made him work for 8th position and the final point of the sprint race, however, Magnussen got himself into a bit of trouble while trying his hardest to keep Lewis Hamilton at bay. Daniel Ricciardo alsoo gave it his all as he fought to keep the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz behind him. 

Overall it was an exciting sprint race in Miami and they discuss all this and more!

The big news is that Adrian Newey, star designer for RedBull racing, is leaving the team. Where could he be headed? Possibilities are Ferrari, Aston Martin, and maybe even Mercedes. Newey isn’’t the only one rumored to be leaving RedBull. Max Verstappen is reportedly in talks with Toto Wolff and Mercedes and has been offered a mega $150 million dollar deal.
