Following the story of country musician Loretta Lynn, Coal Miner's Daughter is much more than your average music biopic. John DeLio, author of the recently released "Not Even Nominated," joins Derick to discuss the film which earned Sissy Spacek an Oscar, but for which Tommy Lee Jones was not even nominated.

Based on the the post-apocalyptic steampunk YA novel of same name the writing team from The Lord of the Rings reunited for Oscar winning effects artist Christian Rivers' directorial debut.

However things did not go as planned as the film crashed at the box office and was chewed up by critics. Derick, along with Mike G from the Masters of the Nerdiverse Podcast defend the film and ask it its due to be reappraised.

After languishing in developmental hell for years Guy Ritchie brought this stylish 60's spy thriller, based on the TV show to the big screen. Unfortunately, despite Ritchie's signature style and a great performance from Henry Cavill the film flopped hard at the box office.
