Welcome back, Refiner! The fun of Season Two continues with EpiCap number two from "Severed." So, were you curious as to what was going on with our outies during that last episode? Then you're gonna LOVE this episode! We discover the "Uprising" only took place a few days ago. Dylan and Irv were fired initially for being a part of it, but then re-hired after the Board realized Mark S. needed them. Mark S. needs his crew so he can be his most effective as a Refiner. Whatever it is he's doing, it's unique to Mark. The powers that be at Lumon seem to NEED Mark S. down there on the severed floor. 'Why' is still up in the air. Also, what's the deal with all of the Pineapples?? Huh??

It's been far too long since there's been productive output from the Severed Floor. Now that Season Two is underway, the "Severed" Podcast will be doing weekly "EpiCaps" (EPIsode reCAPS...get it?). This is NOT the detailed, shot-by-shot breakdown normally done as a re-watch. The re-watch episodes will be released AFTER the entire season of "Severance."

Didn't really expect to see you again until after the holidays. AppleTV+ just couldn't help themselves. They decided to release the first 8 minutes of the first episode of the new season. They did this on December 23rd, so I was a bit occupied at the time. But I'm back to the editor and I've had a chance to break it down!

SPOILERS: Milchick's the new manager of the Severed Floor, he has a new Deputy who might be a schoolgirl (or a robot) and the gang at MDR is all new. None of the other Macrodats returned except for Mark who, according to Milchick, couldn't wait to get back. If you believe any of this, you might be a severed innie. Milchick has become quite the proficient liar since S1. We'll get into that and a whole lot more as we break down the "Sneak Peek".

There's a new promo! Okay, so maybe not as exciting as the "Official Trailer" but it's good to see more promotion in the pipeline. This is a one-minute attempt to lure in new viewers. Adam Scott, Britt Lower and Ben Stiller all address the camera directly, talking as themselves. It's an interesting way to convert new viewers.

There's not a lot...okay, almost NO...new stuff in this piece. It's going to be handy as a way to promote the show to your on-the-fence friends, but it's not giving away any goodies about the new season.

On December 7th, 2024, Apple TV + released an incredible 2 and a half minute "Official" Trailer for the new season of 'Severance.' IT'S AWESOME! Can a man talk for an hour about a less than three minute trailer? Easily! Check it out, gang...this is the biggest taste yet of what things are going to be like for Season Two. Based on this, I'd say the new season will be as well regarded as the Egg Bar...and we all know what everyone thinks of the Egg Bar.

LIVING LIFE 90 SECONDS AT A TIME...
Apple TV+ is back with another glimpse into the weird world of "Severance" Season 2. As we move closer and closer to getting the gang back into MDR, this promo is telling us they might not be the gang we want! Oh, and Mark might be unsevered!! Er...I'm sorry...re-integrated. Milchick's back, Dylan might not be in trouble and there's no word if Helly got a sitdown with 'The Board.'

There's a lot to unpack here. It took me nearly twenty minutes just to pull apart a 90 second promo. Staying in practice for S2!

We're back, and it's time to finish our current "Origins" project. We're going to get into the final hour of 'Dark City.' This movie is deceiving. It's only 90 minutes but, wow...Director Alex Proyas jammed a LOT of stuff into 90 minutes! Literally thousands of cuts are telling a more involved story than you'd expect in such a short film.

We have Strangers to battle...creepy Dr. Schreber is a turn coat, surprise-surprise, and Johnny Murdoch is a heck of a landscaper. He LOVES water features! Emma is going to become Anna, Mr. Hand tries to be Murdoch and Bumstead's going for a spacewalk...this is CRAZY! And DARK!

This is Part Two of our epic "Dark City" breakdown. This 1998 Sci-fi opus was a huge influence on Dan Erickson as he was creating 'Severance.' Last time, we met the players. This time out, we're going to dig into the mystery that is Dark City. Why is there no daylight? Why can't anyone seem to give directions to 'Shell Beach'? And, just how many dead hookers is it going to take before someone stops the serial killer who's run amok??!! Officer Frank Bumstead is doing his best to stop this monster...if only he could get anyone to listen to him.
