Theoretically, alternate realities explore infinite possibilities. But we're pretty sure he's busy in all of them.
Had a great time catching up with Conan Neutron and getting the latest from our old friend. It seems he's kept himself occupied with a project or three. (We're looking forward to all of them!) You definitely want the scoop!
But that's not all! We also discuss: Politics...Pandemics...Time travel...Quantum entanglement...Protonic Reversal...and more! (Conan really gets us, and we love him for it!)
Great time as always. Thanks for joining us, Conan!
When you hail from St. Joseph, MO and your first gig as a band is opening for Fishbone, you're off to a good start. When you follow up by playing festivals around the globe and touring with the likes of Jack White, The Damned, and Foo Fighters you're off to an AMAZING start! While it may seem odd to call Radkey veterans of the rock scene at ages when most bands are just getting started, it's hard to ignore their accomplishments. (Or their talent!) They might be brothers, but Radkey is no novelty act!
There might be a few years between us (we did our best not to look like the creepy old guys hanging out at the college kegger), but it turns out we still have plenty of common ground. Music...comics...movies...video games...etc. Gen X can still hang! (We just have earlier bed times!)
Isaiah Radkey, you sling a mean bass and are hella fun to talk to! Thanks so much for joining us!
We can't wait to see/hear what you guys have in store!
But wait…there’s more!
Join us for the 2021 finale of UTP as we speak with more of our favorite people: Journalist/promoter - Danny R Phillips; Irish musician - Brendan Tallon; Kansas City legends - Frogpond; Guitarist - Patrick Keenan; Ghost researcher/author - Jason Offutt; Topeka band - Bleed The Victim; Skatenigs frontman - Phildo Owen; Mystery podcaster - Dr. N; Knife Crime - Byron Huhmann; Producer/Bassist - John Heintz; Mr. Bungle bassist - Trevor Dunn; Bassist - David Pastorius.
We’ve had a blast doing our little podcast this year and can’t wait to get started on 2022! (We’ve already got some stellar guests lined up! Like…for real!) Thanks for sticking with us Dandies! We love you!
When you've jammed with an eclectic group of musical legends (Tech N9ne, Pat Travers, Carl Palmer and more...), can crash at Robert Trujillo's pad, and have your own amazing band (Local 518), it's pretty safe to assume you've got some serious chops and some great stories!
Sure...being Jaco's nephew makes him a fascinating case study in nature vs. nurture. But we'd think he's cool as hell, regardless.
What a thrill to welcome David Pastorius to the Dandy McCandy family!
When your resume includes Mr. Bungle, Electric Masada, Fantômas, Secret Chiefs 3, Melvins, Tomahawk, MadLove, The Nels Cline Singers, Trio-Convulsant, (and more) it’s safe to be considered prolific.
What a treat it was to get to know legendary bassist Trevor Dunn! This was a dream guest for us and Trevor definitely didn’t disappoint! Lots of great stories and fascinating perspectives in this one. Join us as we discuss Trevor’s latest project Sperm Church, his new label, growing up in Eureka CA, Teletubbies, religion/philosophy….we promise it’s worth your time!
PS – Thanks to our BFAM Conan Neutron for the introduction! (We love you, man!)
Hello Dandies! We hope everyone enjoyed listening to part 1 of "The Best of 2021." However, if you thought that was all encompassing, I hate to tell you that you're dead wrong. Only because the list of stellar guests we had just kept coming. Each of these three, "best of," episodes contain some excellent clips from some amazing artists. Keep an eye out for part three, but in the meantime, enjoy the musings of our featured friends: Nick Batterham (Composer); Coby Ellison (Mental Crisis,et.al.); Scott Splawn (The Mad Kings); John Murry (composer); Dick Valentine (Well.. it's Dick.); Dave Hingerty (The Side 4 Collective); Monty Colvin (Galactic Cowboys); Shane and Ben (They Watch Us from the Moon); Steve Tulipana (Season to Risk/Record Bar); Kevin Seal and Chris McGrew (Seal Party/Griddle); Mike Morasky (Steel Pole Bathtub, CGI God); Tony and Cale- (Forbidden Place Records). Thanks for the love, listens and shares...especially the shares!
2021 was a lot of things, but boring was not one of them!
Here at UTP, we thought we'd relive some of our favorite moments with some truly amazing guests. Thanks for sticking with us through another year Dandies! We love you!
In this episode: Dmitri Mavra of Dungeon Weed; Tom Whitmore of MUFON; William Elliot Whitmore; Shawn and Andrew of Red Kate/Black Site; Brett Anderson of Ha Ha Tonka; Andy Patalan of Sponge; Spectrum Static; Dick Johnson of English Brown; Rich Yarges of Truck Stop Love/Pop Mechanics; Mike Schulte of Pork Tornadoes; Jason S. Thompson of Little Teeth; and John Hastie of Nonagon.
If John Heintz invites you to a gathering, you say YES!
What happens when you put together members of P-Funk; The Lee Boys; Earth, Wind and Fire; Fishbone; Jane's Addiction; Red Hot Chili Peppers; and soooooo many more? John decided to find out. The result? One Big Ol' Nasty Getdown! (And it's AWESOME!)
Jamming with George Clinton. Recording on the infamous Sound City Neve in Dave Grohl's studio. Unfortunate interviews with Larry King. Amazing bass collections. John's had a fascinating life and has some really great stories. We're so glad he was able to share a few.

Knife Crime's front-man Byron Huhmann is kinda weird. (We dig that about him!) He also puts together one Hell of a record (Thanks again, Black Site!) and has a great sense of humor.
We love the Kansas City music scene, so it was an honor to spend some time with such a well established/respected member of it. And while the band's name has other origins, it still feels fitting that Knife Crime's singer/slinger would share stories of crime scenes and theories on how to get away with murder. You know...fun stuff!
If you haven't caught it, do yourself a favor and check out Knife Crime's Lovely Gary. It kills! (Figuratively, of course.)

When we first learned of another "Undetermined" podcast, the original plan was to sue. Unfortunately, Dr. N has better lawyers than us. So we decided to invite her on instead. What a great surprise to learn we have more in common with Dr. N than just a bad-ass podcast name. Turns out, she's also into cursing and talking about weird shit. (Soooo much weird shit!) We really like that about her!
Ghosts. Aliens. Demon cats. (And that's just her personal life.) Lots of stuff to unpack in this one, Dandies!
Welcome to the family Dr. N! We can't wait for the next mashup!
